{"id":88,"date":"2011-06-28T07:51:40","date_gmt":"2011-06-28T07:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.131.168.108\/wordpress\/?p=88"},"modified":"2011-06-28T07:51:40","modified_gmt":"2011-06-28T07:51:40","slug":"i-hate-hair-products","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/2011\/06\/28\/i-hate-hair-products\/","title":{"rendered":"I Hate Hair Products"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, I like them. &nbsp;And use them. &nbsp;And am just vain enough to &#8220;need&#8221; them so my hair looks decent. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>See, I have fuzzy hair. &nbsp;Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I love my hair. &nbsp;It&#8217;s thick with natural wave. &nbsp;But it gets frizzy and fuzzy, especially in Ohio&#8217;s humidity. &nbsp;Which means I need some sort of product to keep my hair calm. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, to be honest, I don&#8217;t really hate the products. &nbsp;What I hate is how companies have to change things up. &nbsp;They take perfectly good products and ruin or discontinue them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is so annoying.<\/p>\n<p>Like, last year, I used up the last of a Pantene styling product that I loved. &nbsp;I went to get some more&#8230;couldn&#8217;t find it anywhere. &nbsp;Finally, I checked the website, and sure enough, they&#8217;d totally discontinued the pomade I loved, replacing it with &#8220;products to treat damaged hair.&#8221; &nbsp;I actually emailed them to ask about it and got back the most inane response: &#8220;Consumers just like you told us that our new line would work better for them.&#8221; &nbsp;Well, it couldn&#8217;t have been consumers <em>like me<\/em>, because the new way doesn&#8217;t work for me. &nbsp;Sheesh!<\/p>\n<p>And sadly, Pantene has done this to me more than once. &nbsp;Years ago, I discovered Pantene&#8217;s &#8220;smoothing&#8221; line. &nbsp;It worked great! &nbsp;Then, they stopped making the shampoo AND conditioner and put out only a 2-in-1 option. &nbsp;Well, I can&#8217;t use 2-in-1 products because they don&#8217;t have enough conditioner for my hair. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, I switched to Suave. &nbsp;I&#8217;ve used their smoothing products (shampoo, conditioner, creme) for a long, long time. &nbsp;And now they&#8217;ve pulled a Pantene on me, too. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A few months back, they created a &#8220;professional&#8221; line. &nbsp;New packaging. &nbsp;New scents for the products. &nbsp;But also, less product for the same price. &nbsp;And they changed the creme so that it makes my hair greasy. &nbsp;That&#8217;s right&#8230;now the creme smells, costs more and doesn&#8217;t work. &nbsp;Nice&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I tried going without any product other than shampoo\/conditioner, but my hair has gone from greasy to frizzy. &nbsp;Not nice. &nbsp;So now I&#8217;m stuck looking for a new product again. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And the irony of it is that, after doing some searching, the most likely replacement might actually be a Pantene product. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At least until they stop making it in a year or two.&nbsp;&nbsp;*sigh*<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Actually, I like them. &nbsp;And use them. &nbsp;And am just vain enough to &#8220;need&#8221; them so my hair looks decent. &nbsp; See, I have fuzzy hair. &nbsp;Don&#8217;t get me wrong, I love my hair. &nbsp;It&#8217;s thick with natural wave. &nbsp;But &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/2011\/06\/28\/i-hate-hair-products\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-88","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/88","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=88"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/88\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=88"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=88"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=88"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
