{"id":160,"date":"2010-08-30T11:51:22","date_gmt":"2010-08-30T11:51:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/10.131.168.108\/wordpress\/?p=160"},"modified":"2010-08-30T11:51:22","modified_gmt":"2010-08-30T11:51:22","slug":"the-end","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/2010\/08\/30\/the-end\/","title":{"rendered":"The end"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Can I tell you&#8230;I think I heard angels singing &#8220;alleluia&#8221; when I finished the last sentence of the book project about 4 pm on Sunday afternoon. &nbsp;It&#8217;s not done. &nbsp;But it&#8217;s in someone else&#8217;s hands for a week or so. &nbsp;And I am very, very thankful to not have to think about making commitments or word counts or whether a certain illustration is good for middle school\/high school students. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I spent most of the weekend on this project. &nbsp;As in, like, 6 hours on Friday (after Eric left with the twins) and over 7 on Saturday. &nbsp;Plus another 3-ish on Sunday. &nbsp;That&#8217;s a long, long writing haul, I can assure you. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the twins did fantastically at the farm without me. &nbsp;As did Eric. &nbsp;Though he was pretty beat when they got home. &nbsp;I did miss them, but it helped to have a project to work on so intensely. &nbsp;Actually, it surprised me how hard it was to wave goodbye as they drove away. &nbsp;Still&#8230;I didn&#8217;t have time to dwell on their absence, so that was good.<\/p>\n<p>By Sunday, I was pretty brain-dead. &nbsp;I think God knew I couldn&#8217;t handle a sermon at church. &nbsp;So instead, we heard a report from the missions team that just got back from Malawi. &nbsp;There were videos and short challenges. &nbsp;And it was so good. &nbsp;Good for me to hear. &nbsp;Good to be reminded of. &nbsp;Good to see our church making an impact. &nbsp;Just good. &nbsp;Kinda like God&#8230;amazing how he works like that, isn&#8217;t it? <IMG height=15 src=\"http:\/\/www.xanga.com\/Images\/smiley1.gif\" width=15><\/p>\n<p>Anyway, except for the 3 hours of writing in the afternoon, we didn&#8217;t do much. &nbsp;Eric introduced the twins to the sprinkler. &nbsp;Alex LOVED it. &nbsp;Erin&#8230;not so much. &nbsp;But she did enjoy running around in her diaper and &#8220;doos&#8221; (shoes) for a bit. &nbsp;And then my parents came up and Karen &amp; her clan came over, and we all ended the day eating supper together. &nbsp;It was fun and crazy and just the perfect way to end the long weekend.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s where things stand. &nbsp;We&#8217;ve run some errands this morning. &nbsp;I can now put together my dad&#8217;s b-day present for next weekend. &nbsp;He turns 60 this year! &nbsp;And I finally fix some books that Erin ripped a couple of weeks ago. &nbsp;And I bought more salt so our food won&#8217;t be inedibly bland. &nbsp;I know&#8230;the last might have been the most important&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Okay, off to eat lunch while the twins are napping. &nbsp;Happy Monday!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can I tell you&#8230;I think I heard angels singing &#8220;alleluia&#8221; when I finished the last sentence of the book project about 4 pm on Sunday afternoon. &nbsp;It&#8217;s not done. &nbsp;But it&#8217;s in someone else&#8217;s hands for a week or so. &hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/2010\/08\/30\/the-end\/\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":4,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-160","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/160","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/4"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=160"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/160\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=160"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=160"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/elhogue.com\/shannah\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=160"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
