So…October is the last time I wrote on this thing…I’m really bad at web-journaling!

I’m done with classes, but not grading.  I have two stacks of
portfolios on my floor downstairs that I have to grade before
Wednesday.  But I’m going to try to get them done today…we’ll
see, though!

I also have to drive into downtown to drop off our “Adopt-a-Family”
stuff at the Salvation Army place there.  It’s actually very cool
to walk into this large chapel and see all the pews and the stage just
filled with boxes and bags of Christmas gifts provided by
strangers.  It kind of makes you feel good!

Anyway, can’t wait to see everyone next weekend!  I have to think of a good idea for a gift card for our exchange!

Hey, Kim Sue!  I met someone you know today…Mike Pistolas from
the Columbus Running Club.  It turns out that he is the same Mike
that Eric lived with when he first moved to Columbus after
college.  They had a third roommate named Brian who lived with
them; all three went to Denison, but Mike graduated a year before the
other two.

Anyway, today was Denison’s homecoming weekend, so we hung out with a
bunch of Eric’s friends all day, one of whom was Mike.  And then
he mentioned the running club in passing, I mentioned that you were in
the club…and voila!  So he said he’d mention it to you the next
time he saw you.  And I thought I’d mention it first!  Fun,
huh?

So…um…Karen said I was supposed to join the Edlund blogring…here I am…hope you don’t mind!

I just bought the negatives for my wedding pictures today.
Yeah!  Now I have the copyright and can do anything I want with
them.  Such fun…anyone want a picture!

Columbus and OSU

Columbus during football season is just a crazy place to live!  I
ran to the grocery store today and at least half of the people in the
store were wearing scarlet and grey and at least half of those (and
some of the others) were obviously getting food and drinks for their
“First Game of the Season” party.  I mean, it’s the first game of
the season, and it’s not even a conference game!  The funny thing
is that I went to OSU, and I really like to watch football.  But
there is just a level of insanity about the Buckeyes here that is
mind-blowing!

The crazy part is that my husband couldn’t care less about
football.  He is not a sports guy at all.  In fact, he very
much despises team sports!  It’s sometimes strange to be married
to someone for whom sports is not a central part of their being.
My brother, and to some extent my dad, is a HUGE sports fan.  He
watches multiple channels of multiple sports pretty much every
day.  In high school, he got B’s and C’s, but my mom said he’d
probably do better on his science and history tests if the information
was somehow inserted in the Sporting News instead of printed in
textbooks.  So that’s what I was used to, what I was expecting to
encounter when I got married.  And instead, I like the sports more
than my husband does!  See…God does have a sense of humor!
