EDIT: I put a pic of my new “do” below…I’m still learning how to add pictures…
EDIT: I’ve had a rough morning. I got a haircut, which didn’t turn out like I really wanted. And I missed the FedEx guy who was bringing Eric’s new toy which we were hoping to take with us this weekend, and since it requires a signature, who knows when we’ll be here to get it from them. Hope the day gets better… End Edit
It’s Fall Break, and I caught up ALL my grading before I left work yesterday!!!
Okay, so I actually have a couple of miscellaneous things, but those are quick so I won’t count them. I even graded my huge stack of bonus work from Basic English. I was very proud of myself. Of course, I didn’t leave my office until almost 5:00, but it was so worth it!
Eric changed the oil in his Jeep last night so we could take it on our trip. We’ll probably leave sometime later today and drive a few hours. That will cut the drive tomorrow (it’s about 10 hours total), which will be nice. My students said that the area should be really pretty right now, so I’m getting excited. And a road trip with Eric will be a nice change of pace, too.
Of course, I have lots to do before we go…cleaning the house a bit, running some errands, packing…all that fun stuff. But I’m on Fall Break, so what else do I have, right?
I like the haircut, also. I hope you’re leaving soon or you won’t get very far today!! Have a fun time!
I just saw the picture. I agree with the others. I think this haircut is Cute (with a capital C). It may not be what you had pictured in your head, but it turned out great. I, apparently, am a bad hair-explainer because my cuts never look like what I imagine.
Good idea, Kimberly! I seem to remember that was an option when FedEx kept claiming we hadn’t signed the paper allowing them to leave things without a signature. Okay, and funny story about the stupidity of our FedEx guy in Cincinnati. He could never seem to find our front door. Now, it wasn’t hidden or even hard to see, and there was a nice concrete paver path from the driveway up to it. But we would constantly find the paper hanging on the little handle of the garage door when we’d been home, meaning he’d never knocked and/or rang the doorbell at the front door. One time, the garage door was up, so I’m sure the poor guy was so confused, because he had no double garage door to knock on. So he actually came into the garage, where both cars were parked, so he really had to squeeze to get around them. Did he then knock on the door leading into the house? NO – he tried to “ring the doorbell” – you know that “doorbell” up at the level near my head?! He was quite shocked when we started to put the garage door down when he tried to ring the doorbell! We actually got to explain it to him!! We called the FedEx center near us several times telling them we’d really prefer he use the front door instead of the garage door!
And by the way, I like your hair!! I don’t think it looks bad at all! Gail’s right – we always think our own hair looks worse than anyone else does!
Shannah, that doesn’t look at all bad!!! It looks good!
Bummer about a bad haircut. And remember, you are probably thinking it looks worse than anyone else. I also hate that you missed the FedEx guy. Serious bummer. But YIPPEE about getting all that work done, and double YIPPEE about taking a trip! It will be great!
Don’t worry — hair grows fast!!
I hope your afternoon gets better! Can you call Fed Ex to check on it or see if you can pick it up somewhere?
I’d hate riding in cars if I lived in North Carolina too and drove through those stinking mountains every time I went to visit family! I hate those mountains!
Sorry your hair cut isn’t what you wanted! The great thing about hair is that it’s already growing back to cover up what you don’t like!
Hope your day turns around!!
I hope you have a nice time. I wouldn’t drive that far to look at some leaves. That just doesn’t excite me that much. I hate riding in cars, too!
Great job on the grading! I hope the drive goes really fast!
Have a FABULOUS trip! Are you taking your camera so you can show us how pretty it is up there?
You’re on here pretty early today!! I hope you have a great trip!! Enjoy the time with your husband!!
