Happy Good Friday, everyone!

What a strange greeting that is, now that I think about it.  Today is the day of the crucifixion, yet we remember it with “Happy Good Friday”?  We are a strange, messed-up people!  But regardless, it’s nice to have a holiday weekend that actually isn’t completely blown out of proportion by more ‘secular’ activities.

Anyway, yesterday was pretty productive.  I got the laundry done (even put away!).  I got my haircut, cleaned the kitchen, did some writing, and went to my dr.’s appointment.  Wow…I thought I did more than that.  Oh well, I guess that’s plenty!

Today I’m going to get my oil changed and get ready for a trip to the farm.  Maybe I’ll move some furniture, too, but we’ll see!

  1. I forgot to answer your question.  He just cuts any visible fat off the pork roast, puts it on the broiler pan with some seasoning on it, and cooks it at about 350 for 45 minutes or so.  The main thing is to keep it out of its juices.  Letting meat sit in its own juices dries it out.

  2. If we were Catholic, we would concentrate on it even more. Want to do that?

How much more furniture could you possibly have to move?!?!?!?

I want to get my hair cut.

  3. Sounds to me like you did a lot yesterday!

No, I’ve not finished my two hours of work – I’m trying to stretch it so the day doesn’t go too slowly!

  4. I was thinking the same thing about the title “Good Friday” yesterday. Seems a little backwards, but oh well. Hope you enjoy your day off!

  5. I agree about the Good Friday holiday. What about someone being crucified is good, except that it had to happen so we would have hope?…And so that Christ could rise and conquer death?  Maybe I just answered my own question!! But, I am glad for the day off, anyway!!
