It is SOOO good to be home!

That’s what I kept thinking all weekend long.  It was a great feeling to wake up in our bed in our house.  Ahhhhh!
The weekend was not terribly exciting, though (thankfully!).  We both just goofed off on Saturday.  I can’t even remember what we did.  Oh no…wait…yes I can.  We did very little until about 5:00 when we met my parents for dinner at a Chinese restaurant on the east side (Hunan House).  We had a good time just laughing and hanging out with them.  We watched Oceans 11 when we got home…Vegas seems to create a desire to see that movie!

We’re dog-sitting again (for a friend, not for Karen), so we have a big fluffy mutt named Noah hanging around with us for the week.  I picked him up on Friday, and he’ll stay until next weekend.  He’s not a very rambunctious dog. He’s mostly laid in front of the front door staring out through the glass at the neighbors.  I think he’s settling in a bit more now, though, because he finally ate something (yesterday) and he’s started to “talk” at us when he wants something.  Of course, I have no idea what his whining/noises mean…but that’s okay!

I thought I’d do more pics from our trip for you this week…now that I have time to really find good ones to show you.  So today will include the pics from our driving and our first national park.  Enjoy!

We begin with out entrance into Utah.  Colorado wasn’t very exciting (except for the snowstorm in the mountains), so here’s what Utah looked like from our car.  As you can see…it’s long, flat and boring!

We took a scenic road to get to Moab, where we stayed from Tuesday to Friday morning.  It was evening here.

On Wednesday morning, we went to Arches National Park.  You saw a couple of shots from there last week, but here’s the entrance sign and some of the shots I took from the car as we drove into the park.

Next we took a 6-ish mile hike to see the various arches.  This first one is called Landscape Arch.  The second picture is the view from that bridge that I had trouble getting over.  Eric loved the view…crazy man!

And finally, some random other pics for you to enjoy!

  1. I know you don’t know me but if you are ever coming to vegas on a vacation again   you are more than welcome to hang around our pool or ask about things to do outside the casinos.   Death Valley is another place which is different from the “red rocks.”    We also have a computer you can use – no wi-fi yet but ….

  2. We must have a lawn-mowing fairy! I didn’t call anyone to mow for me. But, I’m sure this one will cost me something!!

  3. Yeah, it pays to be a bargain shopper! Then you can show up with four things to unwrap and look like you spent a ton!!

  4. The view from that bridge is great…as long as it was someone else taking the picture!! Those are some crazy HUGE rocks, too!! And I agree with you on the road “scenes”…flat and boring!

  5. I’m going to let you in on a little secret, but don’t tell Kayla (or Trisha) because I don’t want her to think I’m cheap: I bought the outfit last August on clearance at Kohl’s.I bought clothes for all the kids and only spent a few dollars. The shirt was $0.99 at Children’s Place. Kevin bought the toys this weekend at Kohl’s. His total was less than $10. I picked up the baby doll stroller for $1.50 at a garage sale on Saturday.

The real money and effort went toward the cake. You can tell where my heart is.

  6. Those are some HUGE rocks!!

And I agree that Eric’s crazy to enjoy the view while standing on that thing!  My mind would just be on getting across it as quickly as possible!
