Baby stuff

So I’ve been having all sorts of weird issues getting this blog together today, but I think we’re on track now!

On Friday, we had another appointment.  The heartbeats were good and strong (140s and 160s).   I’m measuring at 25 weeks, about a month ahead of where I actually am.  And everything else is looking good so far.  (EDIT: Per Beki’s request, I’ve gained about 25 lbs. so far, so that’s still looking good.)  Also, in the last few days I have started to feel them move A LOT!  It’s so much fun.  Eric even got to feel one of them kicking around in there.

Yesterday we actually went to Babies R Us on our first official shopping trip.   We ordered cribs and bought mattresses and car seats.  This is the crib we decided on (I borrowed the picture from some lady’s website).  I’ve found it online, but only pictured in white and this is the finish we actually got.  We will get them in 1-2 weeks, so that should be fun.

We also bought car seats.  We ended up buying identical seats in the Sterling pattern because I don’t really like the girl patterns at all (too over-the-top girly), and the only other option was the G-style, which I think is ugly.   We got them out when we got home, and I’ll tell you how strange it was to see these two empty seats just sitting there.  It was a tad unnerving!   So here’s the scariest thing I’ve seen in a while…

Okay, I think that’s all I’ve got for now.  Enjoy your Monday!

  1. cute cute cute.  I totally haven’t brought or done anything to do with our little man and his room yet.  Maybe this weekend I will start looking – YIKES!

  2. yay! we got our car seat/stroller this weekend as well. what is up with that G pattern? i can only imagine choosing it if you were naming your kid a “G” name. you made great choices! 🙂

also i was going to tell you i finally got that belt/brace and it is WONDERFUL!!

  3. Yeah….wait til those seats are full!!!!!

The cribs are beautiful……how exciting….and wiggly worms. Cool. In 4 months let us know if that ‘wiggling’ is still so neat……

  4. How fun! I can hardly wait to see those car seats with little ones in them! They made me think about Michelle and bringing the twins home for Sierra to meet the first time…good memories!!

  5. So cute.  I love the simple car seats.  Why does baby stuff always come in obnoxious patterns?  Like my pack & play has safari animals on it.  Who’s living room does that match?!?  My car seat looks just like that but where yours are blue mine is gray.  I love that it is super plain.  The only difference is I only have one!  I can’t wait to see your small ones.  You didn’t mention how you are doing on gaining weight. Is it going well?  I hope so.  I’m praying for you.

  6. I love the cribs!  Beautiful!!

You know it’s funny cause I think I’ve mentioned I didn’t find out I was having twins till 5 weeks before they were due (but then they were 3 weeks early, so 2 weeks before I had them).  I can remember feeling movement and since I had 2 before I remember thinking, wow this baby must be really long because of places I was feeling movement at the same time.  Now looking back on that it kinda cracks me up.  Maybe I thought twins but was in denial??  Won’t be long and those car seats will be filled!

  7. That’s so weird to me to see car seats (that aren’t mine) sitting in your living room. Fun to shop for things.   That always made me feel like we were actually preparing for a real baby. (In your case two real babies).
