They’re HUGE!

We had our 1-month well visit yesterday at the pediatrician.  I actually got us there and back all by myself!  I was very proud of myself, needless to say.

Anyway, here’s the word:

  • Their hip ultrasounds came back just fine.  Their hips are not flawed.
  • The pediatrician said they look wonderful.  *sigh of relief*
  • They are, in fact, ginormous now.  Erin weighs 7-15 and is 19.5 inches long.  Alex is 7-14 and is 20 inches long.  (I guess that means Alex really IS getting too long for some of his sleepers!)
  • We talked about their eating habits and how to deal with reflux, if that’s what is causing their sleeping issues.  He said Erin’s tendency to cross her eyes isn’t a problem until 4 months.
  • I really like our pediatrician!  He answered all my questions. He’s very calm and low-key.  And he has a sense of humor.  Lovely!

Last night was a little better.  They went right to sleep after each feeding.  Unfortunately, I still didn’t get much sleep because I didn’t get to bed as early as I should have.  *sigh*  Someday, I’ll be not-tired again, right?

So I guess that’s about all…happy Friday (and weekend) to everyone!

  1. Nice work lovely.  Sounds like you are doing an awesome job!  Oliver i growing sooooo fast, I can’t believe it.  He is also packing on the weight!

  2. Nice job getting to and from the doctors all by yourself!  Isn’t it crazy how fast they grow (and grow out of a size of clothes!)

My little one had reflux pretty bad.  She was on baby zantac from 3 weeks old to 11 months old.  It did wonders for us.  Also once I got over my fear of letting her sleep on her stomach-that helped tremendously too.  Keep doing what your doing because obviously they are thriving!  Great job Mom!!!

  3. I remember doing the same thing — not going to bed on the nights the babies slept well. Someday your body will get used to less good sleep so you’ll not feel as tired!!

  4. Both my kids have had reflux.  Savannah’s was really bad Hudson’s is not as bad. Thankfully if that’s what it is…they do grow out of it and the medication they have works wonders.  Savannah had to be on medication by 3 months.  Hudson was on medication by 5 1/2 months.  Usually they grow out of it by the time they’re sitting up.  I’m hoping Hudson is off of his meds in a few weeks.

I’ll be praying for sleep for you.  I know what you’re going through.  Savannah slept through the night from 7 weeks on.  Hudson is still getting up to eat every 4 hrs. GRRR!  It’s frustrating but I assume eventually they all have to sleep through the night right? 🙂
