Which, of course, doesn’t mean much for me these days. Except that I’m on my own with the babies again. I do like weekends. It is so nice to have someone to help when there are 2 fussing babies!
The weekend was lovely. On Saturday Eric and I took the babies to C-ville to hang out with my parents. It was just the 6 of us, and we sat around and visited all day. The babies were particularly good, and my parents really enjoyed the uninterrupted time with them. And I enjoyed the uninterrupted time with them. The only part of my job at CU that I’ve really missed is all the time I got to spend with my mom. I miss her.
Sunday was church and a productive afternoon. Eric cleaned bathrooms. They look fantastic! I made dinner, fed babies, ironed, cleaned up the kitchen and started sorting a bunch of piles of things that have been bugging me for a while. Eric went to small group in the evening (we’re meeting guys/girls right now instead of couples), and I watched television while the babies slept. Nice!
Other random pieces of my life:
- The babies are officially 2 months old, as of yesterday. They’re getting so big!!
- I finally figured out how to re-connect my bluetooth receiver to my cell phone. Now I can talk to people while holding a baby without also trying to hold a phone to my ear!
- So far, our babies have done really well in the nursery. I attribute this to our decision to get them to first service which is during their morning nap time. It definitely works better for the nursery workers that way!
- I need to vacuum my floors. It’s really getting bad, but I just never seem to get around to doing it. Maybe I’ll try to get that done today at some point.
- I think I know what I’m going to get Eric for Valentine’s Day. Actually I have two ideas. Now I have to decide between them.

cuteeeeeeeee!
I can’t believe they are 2 mos already. Love the pics. They are so cute. How is your dad doing with his knees?
They’re growing up too fast…tell them to stop.
Oh my goodness! 2 months already!! they are so incredibly adorable Shannah!
They’re so cute, Shannah! Thanks for sharing them with us!
I need to vacuum, too. Mine are mobile so it should be a higher priority, right? (at least according to Gail) Maybe I’ll get to it this afternoon. That’s the bad thing about it getting nice. We go outside more so track in the dirt. I have already swept the kitchen floor twice today.
Wow — in the nursery already. We did by 2 months, too, but a lot of people wait longer. The nursery workers were excited because they don’t often get really small babies, especially twins!
alex loks exactly like you!
and baby c had that pink sleeper on today until about 9 when she barfed all over it. so cute!!
@gsowell – My dad’s knees are healing very nicely, thanks for asking. He looks tons better and is walking pretty well (with cane and/or walker). He’s been released from home physical therapy, but still has to exercise on his own. Now he just has to improve until his doctor clears him to return to work/driving/life.
Ooh, they’re so cute! Hooray for time with your parents – there’s something so relaxing about being with your Mom, like someone else is in charge for a while. And it’s so fun to see your parents love on your kids.
The babies are beautiful!! 🙂
I too enjoy the weekends and having my hubby around to help.
1. Thank you for pictures. I can already start to see them emerge as more masculine/feminine, even without the hint of the pink and blue outfits.
B. Vaccuuming is looooow priority until they are mobile. Right now, just throw a blanket down and they’ll stay on it. When they go everywhere, you’ll need to keep the bits off the floor better.
iii. I’m glad you had a good time with your parents. I bet it’s hard adjusting to not seeing your mom as often. How’s your dad doing with his knees?
what a pair of sweeties you have!! so cute!!
They are adorable!!
Those babies couldn’t look any more different from each other! Alec looks like Eric and that little girl looks just like you!! Both are pretty cute!!
Kevin cleaned my bathroom yesterday. I attempted to do it and got exhausted. And by attempted, I mean I thought about it. He took over from there.
How cute are they?!! Hooray for a husband who cleans bathrooms–amazing! Glad to hear from you, Shannah!
