Weekend Stuff

So what was Friday’s post about, you ask?  Well…my annual spring ant infestation (I HATE ants in my kitchen) appeared about 45 minutes before Eric had to leave for his men’s retreat.  And Eric was leaving really early (9:30 am for a retreat that started at 6 that evening), which I was struggling not to be bitter about.  And then to discover that I had to clean my kitchen top to bottom before doing anything else and while Eric was trying to get out of the house…well, it was just more than I deal with at that moment.   Thankfully, the Spirit helped me get over it, and we all survived.  And I haven’t seen any more ants since then…I guess my foul attitude scared them away!

While Eric was gone, I went to my parents’ house.  Of course, since it was graduation weekend, and my parents were super busy, I still spent most of that time totally alone with two babies, which was pretty tiring.  But at least my parents provided regular interruptions (which I would not have gotten at home), and they got to spend about 4 hours on Saturday afternoon just lovin’ on the babies which was great for all of them!

Sunday was church, of course.  Eric mowed, and I ran to the grocery store since I hadn’t been able to do that during the rest of the weekend.  And I made it to bible study for the last lesson of this session.  So Eric watched the babies most of yesterday, but all went well, really.

This morning, I found Erin lying in a mess of her own making.  Since she hadn’t really pooped since Friday, I’d been waiting for that diaper-filling, but it was worse than I thought it would be!  So now I have a major load of laundry to do this morning so Erin can nap in her crib again…good times, huh?

Anyway, I should get on to that, I guess.  Later!

  1. Ooooh I found ants in my kitchen today too!!  SO annoying!  And husbands never seem to be very bothered by it…in fact, he’s the one who’s usually responsible for their appearance: he always spills a bit of sugar on the counter when he’s preparing his coffee in the mornings.

  2. Our ants have started coming in again, too. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten completely rid of them yet.

  3. I found my ant infestation a few weeks ago. I HATE ANTS, also. I sprayed and put out ant traps and I haven’t seen any since. Why is it that ants don’t bother the men so much as the women?!

  4. UGH — i’m SO sorry about the ants!  we had a major ant invasion last spring, and it was terrible!  so it’s understandable that you were upset!  i will pray that they stay AWAY.  far, far away!

  5. Ah, babies and their excretions   One of my grandmothers loved changing baby poo, and the other always handed us off to more interested parties.  I’m glad you survived the weekend.
