Today (and a bit of tomorrow)

Updates:

  • We had a good weekend at the farm.  We (mostly Alex) did not sleep all that well, so we’re all pretty beat.  But it was great to see the family and get lots of help with the babies.  And Eric got to hang out with his brothers, which he really enjoys.
  • And I’ve finally figured out why the twins haven’t been sleeping well, even though they haven’t been sick, recently.  While tipping Erin upside down yesterday morning, Eric realized that he had a molar through.  And when we looked, we realized that she has 3 in (with the fourth on its way)!  So then we checked Alex, and he has 2 already in.  No WONDER they’ve been so cranky recently!
  • The GIVE-AWAY is still open.  I will draw the winner’s name tonight, so if you want to win free scrapbooking materials (and didn’t enter on Friday), say so in a comment below!
  • Oh, and I’m working on sending out the chore lists to those who asked for them.  I didn’t get them sent before we left for the weekend, but I hope to get them out today.  Sorry for the delay!

Okay, I am curious about something that came up with I chatted with my sister this morning.  So here’s a question for all of you who attend church.  Does your church cancel or move the time of services on Super Bowl Sunday?  If not, why?

Hope you have a marvelous day…happy Monday!

  1. I would love the chore chart! 🙂 Also, I am not sure what our church is doing this year. Last year, they didn’t cancel or move any service. We have both a morning and evening service…

  2. I’m certainly glad you have an answer for the crabbiness. Hopefully, it will end when they are all in…but then there’s the eye and stomach teeth that still need to come in. Maybe they’ll be a piece of cake after the molars!!

Our church does not cancel church service for the Super Bowl. Evening small groups meet as usual. Some years there have been a lot less people there, but others have been “normal” attendance. Maybe it depends on who’s playing! We usually watch after the service since it’s still on.

  3. Our church will be on regular schedule Super Bowl Sunday Night but sometimes they have the game on after church for anyone who wants to stay and watch it.  I haven’t heard this year if they are doing that.

  4. Our church doesn’t have a regular Sunday night service. There is always one on Sundays, but it’s very low key. We don’t attend, but as far as I know, it’s business as usual on SuperBowl Sunday.

  5. Ooh! Please enter me in the giveaway.  How fun!  Our church doesn’t always have things scheduled for Sunday evening.  The youth group usually does their normal thing on Super bowl Sunday, but will then have a little party or something.  Hope the crabbiness ends soon…..come on teeth!

  6. Our current church doesn’t always have Sunday evening activities.  The first Sunday evening of the month is supposed to be business meeting at 5:30.  I *think* that’s still a go.  The youth meet at 6:30, and I bet they will still meet, but I haven’t heard from our youth leader yet. February newsletter articles have to be in to me by Wednesday, so I’ll know more then.

Pesky molars!  But, oh what a thrill to have an answer to the “what happened to my happy, sleeping babies?” question!

  7. Go teeth! That’s great!  And nice to have a reason for the crabbiness.  They are tough kids, that’s alot of teeth!

As far as I know, our service times aren’t changing.  They didnt’ say anything about it at church on Sunday.  I don’t even know what time the game is?  Is it that early? (our services are at 9:30 and 11:00).

    Thanks for the chore list!

  8. Pretty teething babies!
I haven’t been to church in a while, but we’ve always had Sunday morning services.  Or Saturday nights.  The churches (mostly Catholic and many on military bases, so they had a different attitudes about things) didn’t change the times of the services, but a lot fewer people showed up.  I miss going to church on a military base – Catholic or Protestant services.  It was cool when I was little, because we’d have interfaith potlucks and there was a general feeling of good will and camaraderie despite doctrinal differences.
