Today is Eric’s last day of work for the week. He is very excited
about that, especially because he caught a cold this week. I
suppose that means I might catch it just in time for Christmas…it
would figure!
I really need to clean up my house today, especially my kitchen!
Why is it that thirty seconds after you finish cleaning a room, it’s
messy again? I suppose it’s the problem of actually living in
your house…is it worse with kids?
Our party went well last night. We played charades, which was interesting because a number of the group had never played before.
That was crazy since the youngest members of the group are teenagers
and one of the adults had never played either! But they picked it
up quickly, so next time we play it’ll go much smoother…
We are doing some drama for our Christmas morning service. Our
church does a Ladies Christmas Tea every December (imagine a gym full
of round tables that look like JoAnn Fabrics exploded on top of them),
and we were the entertainment this year. Anyway, the pastor’s
wife (who organized the Tea) just thought it was great, so Pastor asked
if we could do part of it (the spiritual part…go figure) for
Christmas morning. Like we could say no…
Well…I have some errands to run and stuff to get done today, so I
think this is all for now. Don’t worry, Trisha, I’ll probably
check again later!
Did I miss the second kid-related question that she asked? I only see one!
Since I’m so good at starting rumors around here…
Did anyone else notice that Shannah asked two questions about babies today? Any reason why, I wonder…
Oh…and seriously, Kim, I was floored that they’d never played Charades. I guess I can understand the 16 year-olds some, but the 40-something mother of 4 who loves to play games? That’s just crazy-talk!
And I think our families would DEFINITELY be good at Mafia! :0)
Not a sports fan…that might be the understatement of the year (and being so close to the end of ’05, I feel like I can say that)! Seriously…I was totally prepared to put up with football EVERY Sunday and watching three different sports shows at once. Instead, I married a man who barely watches TV, doesn’t channel-surf much at all, and won’t watch sports unless he HAS to. I mean…who would have ever thought that I’d be the sports fan in my family!
I don’t know where I come up with these things, either! I find it more natural to come up with a lie (although you never know – maybe that is why they compare to fruits/veggies) than to just answer a question! Maybe that’s what I should work on for the new year, but I’ll stick with doing a better job with our finances (filing, etc.) and flower gardens (that’s a good one, because you don’t actually have to start it for a few months, and then maybe you’ll forget about it, and if you do, maybe your mother-in-law, who conveniently lives 2 miles away and loves to garden, will do it for you!).
Shannah, is it the weirdest thing in the world for you to get used to living with a man who’s not a sports fanatic?
Kids definitely make a house messier. Even at this age when she doesn’t do too much. She’s not making more of a mess, you just have less time to clean it up because you have to take care of her. So I think our clean rooms must only last 15 seconds and then we have more time in between the clean times! It’s really a pain. Especially when you’re home all day and you never get time to make the house look nice.
Or maybe, that’s a common frame of reference for most people. *shakes head* Where do you come up with these things, Trisha?
Shan, I can’t believe they didn’t know how to play charades! Crazy! Last Friday night, we had our Sunday School class party, and this other guy and I taught everyone to play Mafia. That game is hard to explain! But I was thinking, I bet our families could be really good at it…Christmas?
I think it always compares the baby to fruits and vegetables because pregnant women are always hungry. That way, they get us thinking about fruits and vegetables to eat instead of junk food! It didn’t work this week, though – I’m not going to go eat an onion or anything! Gross!
