Just a short one today…sorry! Mostly, I don’t have that much
exciting to say. I graded all evening (interrupted by nose
blowing, coughing and sneezing). Eric has started calling me
“Sniffy” since that’s pretty much all I’ve done since the
weekend! Today, the congestion seems to be a little better in my
head, a little worse in my chest. And my students were telling me
that the campus is really being hit hard: strep, mono, hacking coughs,
etc. Hopefully, I can keep from getting any of that!
Anyway, enough of my whining. I did get all my papers read, so
that was nice. I need to do some prep for my Basic English class
before noon, and I have a meeting at 11:00 with a student for the paper
we’re working on now. Unfortunately, my voice was starting to
give out in my 9:00 workshops, so hopefully, I can ease it through my
afternoon stuff!
Tonight we have drama as usual. I’d consider cancelling it, but
we’re supposed to be having some new people come to see what we
do. At least I think we are. Anyway, we are only playing
theatre games tonight, so that is easier to plan for, and we’re already
set to end early tonight as well. That’s good because I’ve been
wearing down fast in the evenings. Should be interesting, anyway!
How are you feeling this morning?
Have you heard anything about your grandpa?
Good point about the University/College issue! What was I thinking?!! And what are you thinking?! Do you think God and Dr. Dixon approve of a female professor wearing pants to class?!
Restaurant secret shoppers are definitely real! We used to get them a lot at the Cooker when I worked there. You always had to watch out for anyone who ordered everything you suggested. (If you suggested a certain alcoholic drink, they’d order an alcoholic drink, though not necessarily the one you suggested, appetizers, entrees, and dessert.) And they always use a credit card to pay, since it’s either being paid by the shopping company or they’re being reimbursed. It always sounded like a great job to me!
OH…and we’re a University now!
Who said anything about a skirt? I’m wearing pants and a cute little brown leather jacket my parents got me for my birthday! So I’ll curl up if I want!
I should HOPE you are wearing a skirt, and I don’t think it would be appropriate for a Cedarville College professor to curl up on a couch in her skirt at the school! We have standards, you know!
i wasn’t upset by your opposition to the outsiders! i just happened to really, really enjoy it, and i get a little defensive about books/movies that i really like. but i totally understand what you mean about a bad teacher tainting a book. i read a lot of books in high school that i HATED, but i think i might actually enjoy them now if i read them on my own.
so how are you related to kim? you guys have such a big family, and i get so confused!
If I only had time to curl…actually, I need to go over to Super Rip to see if I can find cough drops to get the perpetual tickle out of my throat! The bookstore only had Hall’s, and I can’t use that kind very well. Hopefully, SuperRip will have Luden’s or something (for less than it costs to pay our house payment!).
They have couches all over that campus — she could pick any one of them!
Um, Kim, I think she’s at school. Where should she curl up?
Wow, now Michelle REALLY sounds like a mom!!
I hope you feel better soon! I know how awful it is to be sick! You should probably just curl up with a book and read all day!
You poor thing! At least it sounds like it might be moving down and out.
