So I worked outside all day yesterday.  The mulch never came, so after I finished working on the flower beds, I washed and cleaned my car.  It’s so much better than it was!  I even vacuumed the carpets and cleaned the dashboard and vinyl.  By then it was almost 4:00, so I came in and got a drink.  Then I showered for the day.  Eric got stuck in really bad traffic coming home, so it took him about 45 minutes to get here.  We had supper and then he worked on the last bit of edging that needed done.  It wasn’t that exciting of an evening, needless to say!

I was going to run some errands this morning before working on the yard for the afternoon. The mulch arrived just a few minutes ago, however, and it’s actually coving the middle of the driveway, so I can’t really get my car out.   I guess that means I should work on my yard first and then run errands.  Oh well!

  1. Just so everyone knows…the mulch is now off the driveway and in the flowerbeds. Eric came home early…that’s why we’re done now. Yeah!

  2. I actually thought of asking you to come to the airport if you had time in between all your errands and gardening. Kim seems to have too much other stuff on her agenda to fit in family!

  3. It also helps to keep the moisture and heat in the ground (where the roots are ), instead of evaporating off. It really is a good thing (for the plants, that is…not for those of us hauling it around the yard in a wheelbarrow!).

  4. No, Kimberly!  *shakes head*  It’s to keep the weeds from being able to grow in between the flowers.  I always thought it was a waste of time, too, until we used it and the weeds didn’t grow!

  5. I enjoy the smell of mulch. We used the red cedar kind. We haven’t done it in a couple of years. I guess we should get around to that this year.

  6. I think some of it does have manure in it, but I wasn’t thinking of that specifically. Besides, I have access to a dairy farm if I wanted really fresh manure!

  7. I also hate the smell of mulch. But it smells less bad on the flower beds than in the big pile on my driveway! And we don’t buy the REALLY nasty smelling stuff.

  8. I can’t stand the smell of mulch. I know some people like it, but I just don’t. When I got my oil changed yesterday, they actually dusted my car for me! Such a nice surprise!
