Eric is on vacation for today and Monday.  We’ll be heading out to the farm to do some camping this weekend and hang out with the family.  We bought some supplies for camping last night, but we’ll have to return some stuff today (I hate finding out stuff is broken AFTER you get it home!).  And other than that, I have a few things to do to get the house ready to be gone for a couple of days…isn’t it odd that I have to clean my house because I won’t be in it?

Thankfully, Karen is going to water our plants for us…so hopefully they won’t die while we’re gone.  We’ve gotten a lot of zucchini already, and the tomatoes are doing very well.  We have TONS of peppers growing.  But the beans are still “on the way.”  Don’t know if we’ll end up with any of those really, but that’s okay.  We have gotten a small harvest, which is a good thing for our first try!

  1. Yeah, and I have people coming over on Monday night after we get home (a girls bible study), so the cleaner it is when I leave…the less I have to do before they come!

  2. I usually pick things up before I leave, too, so I don’t have to come home to a messy house. It gives the illusion that you get to relax after you come back because you don’t have to clean the house!

  3. I’ve thought the last three nights that it would be fun to come home to a clean place…hasn’t happened yet, though!

  4. It’s like you guys are almost farmers!  I just bought a zucchini at the store yesterday – maybe I should plant some things next year!

Have fun camping!  I always thought my mom was crazy for always cleaning the house right before we left to go somewhere, but it’s awfully nice to come home to a clean house!  Another mom-ism for Kim’s site!  (Plus, that means if Donna comes over just to let the dogs out, she won’t find things to clean for us!)

  5. I can’t imagine that you have a lot of cleaning to do before you leave because it seems as if you clean all the time! Why don’t you come clean my apartment before you have to leave??

I guess it’s garden season because we have people at work bringing in produce to give away all the time!
