Friday! It’s been a very tiring week for us…and we don’t have children or any of the valid excuses you guys have! Eric actually had like 4 cups of coffee yesterday (way more than usual) while he was traveling, and still slept like a rock.
So the travel restrictions did slow down Eric’s travel, but he made it home just after 8 pm, rather than after midnight, so that was good. They didn’t have too much trouble since they were only taking things for a business meeting, not packing for a trip. But he won’t have to travel now for a while, and we’re both glad about that!
Yesterday, I worked around the house in the morning. I cleaned my kitchen and mopped the floor. I also picked the first tomatoes of our garden! How fun is that?!? In the afternoon, I had to drive out to the farm by myself (3 hours round trip) to pick up the Coleman lanterns that we were borrowing from Alan, Eric’s younger brother. We’re going camping this weekend with some of our small group from church, and we needed some light! Anyway, I hit rush hour on the West side of Columbus, so it took a bit longer, but not much (and I knew Eric wasn’t waiting for me, so it was no big deal!). Then I just relaxed in the evening while I waited for Eric to get home.
Today, I’ve got to run to WalMart (sorry, Kim) to pick up supplies for camping. Basically, the entire day will be spent getting ready to go for the weekend, but it should be fun!
Have fun camping.
I used to do the driving thing, too! It was bad, though, because I moved in the winter, so it was always dark when I was driving! Something that’s better to do during the daylight hours, I think.
Walking in the almost dark, though, unsure of where you live = not so helpful.
4 couples. We’re camping at Deer Creek State Park. They have restrooms/showers there (yes…that was a big thing!). They also have lots of activities (trails, fishing, putt-putt…though that last one doesn’t seem like a “camping” activity really!).
Eric looked up the price of lanterns and decided that the $65-$90 for the Coleman lanterns was too much for this trip. Maybe later, but we’ll see. Of course, the 3-hour car trip might have used that much in gas, but oh well!
Would it not have been cheaper to just buy some lanterns yourself? I don’t know the price of camping equipment since I don’t camp myself!
^ My church is even less than that! ^
How many people are going camping this weekend? Where are you going?
And yes, the pastor’s wife is Sarah Young. The first week we went to Sunday School at this church, we were in the pastor’s class, and as soon as he saw us, he asked if we were the Richards. Apparently, he’d run into Chris at the barber or something, and Chris had told him something about his cousins had moved back to town and had gone to the church service at his church the week before. (I’m guessing he also told him I was very pregnant, or he wouldn’t have guessed it was us so quickly!) Jon and Sarah are REALLY nice! And the church is only five minutes or so from our house, so that’s nice, too!
Much more fun getting ready to go somewhere than cleaning everything from having gone somewhere!
