Second day of classes! Yesterday, I was down in CU in the
morning, trying to get some work done. Then I had lunch with my
mom and headed back to Columbus for a meeting with the music lady at
the church. That was an adventure, too, because the road in front
of our church is “closed” for construction (meaning that it is
officially closed to traffic, but since that’s the only entrance to the
church they have to let us drive on it). It was awful trying to
get through the large trucks and around the VERY BIG hole that was
right in front of the church entrance.
I really have started to wonder whether all County Engineers are as
dumb as the one in Franklin county…he makes the WORST decisions I’ve
ever seen on road work.
Okay…enough venting. I did make it to and from my meeting
(which was very productive). Then I got home (late as usual!), we
made tacos for dinner, and we watched a movie. I should have
cleaned my house since at roughly 7:30 last night, my in-laws called to
let us know they were planning to come out tonight (to bring my
mother-in-law’s computer for Eric to fix). So they’ll be here for
dinner, and Ryan is coming too. So now I have company coming and
my house needs cleaned and I still have to figure out exactly what
we’re having for supper. I’m not at all sorry they’re coming, but
geez…nothing like last minute notice! But notice that we
watched the movie anyway last night. Eric promised to help me out
when he gets home from work, so we should be fine. Though I
will have to leave immediately after my last class!
My in-laws aren’t close enough to just “drop by” the next day so I guess I’m glad about that. I have plenty of advance notice to prepare the house and to prepare my mind/attitude!
Yeah, I wonder what that’s like!
Wow! She sounds like a nice mother-in-law!!
Bless her heart…my mother in law is so funny! She just left me a voicemail to say that she realized she sounded really presumptive last night by saying they’d be here for supper, and she meant that we could all go out! She’s so cute!
I’m glad you watched the movie last night anyway. You need a break once in a while!
Don’t stress out about tonight — I’m sure everything will come together!
Good! It’s Friday anyway – you should knock off early! And it’ll be nice to get the house clean before they get there, and then maybe you won’t know what to do for the rest of the weekend, and you can fill your time with all kinds of fun stuff!!
This is funny to me – “…nothing like last minute notice!” – you get NOTICE?! You mean besides just a double ring of the doorbell?! And would your mother-in-law mention if your house was too messy for her tastes like mine would? Just trying to put a better light on it for you!!
