Basic Update:
- They are two weeks old today.
- I’m feeling really good these days. I still lack my old stamina, but I have recovered nicely from the surgery.
- Eric is home this week “on vacation” – I’m not sure this is exactly relaxing, but I’m sure glad he’s here!
- They are very fussy today for the first time (at least the first time for both at once and without a clear reason).
- We gave them their first real baths last night, both of us kneeling by the tub with a baby. Right at the very end, Alex let go and sprayed Erin in the face with pee. Poor Erin. (And yes, Mommy laughed
) - We had a rough night on Saturday night, but last night went really well. They wore themselves out crying during the bath, I guess. That might be a good enough reason to bathe them every night.

And now on to pictures!
I think this one looks professional…it’s one of my favorites!
And Erin:
And us!

Hey Shannah! I’ve seen your comments on other people’s sites and for some reason never noticed it was you. Funny. Anyway, what beautiful babies you have! Congratulations! I’m really happy to hear that you’re all doing well. I’m impressed that you’re breastfeeding…I know one was difficult for me, I can only imagine bfing two! Good for you! 🙂
Shannah, I love the last picture of the three of you – it makes it really hard to believe that just two weeks ago those babies were INSIDE YOUR BELLY!! I’m just so glad things are going well. Keep up the great work!!
@mke813 – You’ve been right about LOTS of things…thanks for all the advice. I’m sure I’ll need it for a long, long time!! Merry Christmas!!
Told you you’d feel pretty good (surgery-wise) by two weeks! Glad to hear I was right about something!!
Two crying babies is definitely hard. You can hold two babies if they’re both quiet, but trying to console two at the same time is rough. There will be a few of those times, but you’ll make it through!!!
They are sooooo cute! Even next to you they look little!!
What precious pictures! They are so cute! The bathtub episode cracked me up!!! Might have to face the little guy the other way! Poor Erin! That would’ve been great on home video! 🙂
@ch1pch0p – You can download them from his website, too. But you will still have to crop the watermark!
Such sweet babies. I love the first photo too! 🙂
I’m going to steal these pictures and crop out Eric’s watermark.
They are amazingly adorable! And it seems like you are doing well too! I think I know how you feel since my mom had to take care of me and my sis for the first time 20 years ago! lol
I love the names as well.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Oh Shannah, they are just adorable!! You look great and I’m glad to hear that you are feeling better. Beautiful babies!!! I know I told you before but I love those names. My friends daughter is 26 and her name is Erin Elizabeth. For some reason they have always called her Lisa but I love Erin!
@shannahhogue – oh, that’s too much!
i love it!
SOOO adorable! Merry Christmas!
cute, cute, cute!
Your babies are just adorable. Glad to here you are feelling better. Hope you have a Merry Christmas
beautiful!!!!!
Yay! Pictures are awesome! You’re doing a great job, Mom. How’s Dad holding up?
@faithchick – No, that’s his angry face. It usually precedes a major crying fit. But it’s still very cute!
glad to hear that you’re laughing. 🙂 That’s always a good sign!
I can’t belive they’re 2 weeks old!
those pictures are adorable. I think Alex looks a lot like you. (i don’t mean in that one picture where he’s making a face–is that a pooping face?
)
Hilarious bathing story–poor Erin! So glad you’re well, Shannah! They are adorable!
soooooooooooo cute!!!!!!
glad you are starting to feel better!
LOL to the bathing episode!
