They’re Here!

You all are in for a double treat today. Not only do you get to hear about the new babies, but you get to hear it in the words of Eric!

Both babies were surgically removed from Shannah at 7:52am and 7:54am respectively. The first born, Alexander Leon, weighs 6lbs 0oz and was 18.75 inches (He may be taller by now.) Number two, as opposed to Frau Farbisna, is Erin Elizabeth. She weighed 6lbs 1oz and was 19 inches long.

Babies and mother are all recovering from their adventure and I’m starting to revive thanks to my infusion of Starbucks.

There will be pictures eventually. Check out elhogue.com for the widest selection.

  1. Yayyy! They are so cute. The pictures are great! Gigi looked at them with me and here is her comment.

“Those babies are so cute that I want to reach in the computer and beep their noses!”

    (She’s really into nose-beeping lately)

    Blessings on your family!

  2. P.S. I forgot to say that I’m sure your mothers really appreciate the extra effort to have 2 – one for each to hold.  Our parents would have appreciated the same courtesy, instead we made them take turns.

  3. Oh my gosh, they’re beautiful!  I’m sitting here all teary over their pictures.  Newborn babies are such treasures, I’m so happy for you guys!  Beautiful names, as well, they suit their little faces!

  7. Just found the pictures!  They are breathtaking!  Just beautiful babies.  LOVE the one with Alexander’s (I think…) fingers interlaced like his first prayer!  And the grandma’s both peeking at hair at the same time.  Oh, how sweet it is!  Is it normal to weep over other people’s joy?  I am celebrating with you both here in Kentucky!  God is so entirely good and faithful!

  8. Fun, Fun, Fun!!! I really like their names, too…good picking!!

We were thinking of coming to the hospital to see you all tomorrow. Will that be all right?

  9. So thrilled for your family!  What big babies!  I love, love, love the names!  I am just guessing, that even with surgery recovery, Shannah is feeling much, much better!  Oh, there just aren’t enough exclamation points!!!!!
