Suddenly, with 5 days before the babies come, the reality of our upcoming (and very drastic) family shift is becoming more and more real. I’m not sure why, but last night, it really struck me. We’re on our last week of free evenings to just be “us,” and starting next week (and going for 3-6 months, we’ve been told) sleep will become a priceless commodity. It’s a little scary, to be honest. I think I just need them to get here so I can stop anticipating it and just start.
Yesterday, I did make it to the nearly-empty mall with the nearly-empty parking lot. Fantastic! And, after I buy one small thing, I will be done with Christmas presents for my family. Yippee!! Of course, that does leave all of Eric’s family, but he’s responsible for those. So we’ll see what he orders for them online…
I broke a fingernail yesterday. I was a little sad about it because I only have a short time left for this pregnancy to make them grow really fast. That was one perk of pregnancy for sure…my nails looked great all the time!
Today I think I’ll run little errands to a few different places. And I’d like to get to the library, I think. But we shall see what my body is up for today. At least it’s supposed to be a little more balmy today!
So excited your babies are coming! 🙂
Yes, your days of just being the two of you will soon end but a new adventure is about to begin! 🙂 If you are a “normal” family, you will have the opportunity for more “just the two” of you time in about 18 years!
5 days until your family doubles in size. wow! prayed for you just now.
Awesome shopping success!! So glad for you!
I agree with what was mentioned above – go out and do something fun with Eric. Oh schedule in some nap time before next week……it may be awhile before you get one of those again
The nice fingernails were one of my favorite pregnancy perks, since normally my fingernails break really fast! The vitamins help for awhile afterward, but I’m still taking them, and my fingernails are back to normal now!
@chrissdeb – I agree!
Keep taking your pre-natal vitamins, and your nails will be fine!
Go out and do something fun with Eric before the babies come. Trust me, it will be a while before you can do that again.
I’m getting so excited for you, Shannah! I hear you on the anticipation, often I get myself so worked up contemplating things, it just seems much easier to have the change come. Hope you can relax a bit with Eric this week.
how nice that eric buys the gifts for his family! i’m pretty sure that if i left that responsibility to steve, his family would get nothing.
so i guess it’s good that i enjoy shopping!
