It’s been a kind of long week, so I’m glad it’s almost the weekend. I realize that sounds odd coming from someone who’s not working right now, but it’s still true!
Eric is going out with his brother tonight after work for a “last” hurrah…at least before the babies come. They’re having dinner at Easton and watching the Bond movie. But it means I won’t see him again until late. So it’s a long day alone for me. Still, I’m glad they can do this since it may be a while before they can do it again. At least I hope so! ![]()
I love words. Having gone back to my personal Bible study in Romans, my favorite part is doing word studies. For example, in Romans 1:25, where it says “they exchanged the truth of God for a lie,” the word exchanged actually means that they thought they were getting an equal trade. They thought it was an equivalent swap (Strongs). How sad for them (and us, sometimes), and how cool that a single word can tell us so much!
I think today is a laundry day. I need to get some things washed so I can finally pack a hospital bag. It’s probably important to get on with that! But since I’ve got a lot more hours to fill than normal, maybe I’ll try to get out and do some Christmas shopping or something. We shall see…
And, finally, last night, we picked up our new glider from Babies R Us. Eric set it up, and that pretty much means the nursery is as ready as it’s going to get. And here is a picture for you…
Happy Friday!

Great glider! I want one and I don’t even have kids. 🙂
love the room and the glider – I don ‘t think I will fit a glider in our nursery ;( So once I have a chair the baby room is done. Will post some pics up this weekend!
Can’t believe there isn’t long to go now! Exciting/Scary!
I LOVE the glider! I didn’t think I would like a footstool either, but I really used Michlle’s when I was there after her babies. And it came in handy while trying to nurse two babies! It was easier to prop them in the right spot with your legs up a little higher!!
I had a dream that your water broke when you were eating a meal. I’m not sure if it was Thanksgiving dinner, but I was there. We’ll see if that happens!!
Cute room! May your babies come sooner rather than later!
I love Romans. I don’t know if you have ever done the Believing God study but Beth asks you to read Rom 4 20 times during the study. She told us to keep a sticky paper in your bible and check off and make sure you read it that many times. I’m just amazed at the different things I find each time I read the chapter. I’m kinda behind on that and the study is done but I’m going to follow through. Have a wonderful weekend!
i love finding out the greek / latin meaning of Biblical words! it really enriches the text! i think the english lanuage really does us a disservice sometimes!
Oooh I love the glider -it looks really cozy, which is great since you’ll probably be spending a good bit of time in it
@trishlrich – No ottoman. I don’t like glider ottomans because they’re too tall for my short frame. So I’ll be pulling in a regular stool from another room!
@filledeparis – We have a c-section scheduled for Dec. 8, but I have no desire to wait that long (the babies are already 6 lbs a piece!)…
lovely nursery!! pretty glider!!
praying that your water breaks in a timely fashion.
i agree, the room looks cozy! and we would all be excited for you to go into labor this weekend! but don’t worry, if not this weekend, the time is sooooo almost here!
@shannahhogue – I see. In that case, I wish you a productive weekend.
You have a date for a c-section if labor doesn’t happen by a certain date, yes?
Oh, and Julie is due at the end of March… the 30th is the official date, I think.
I like the yellow color, too – very nice!
The glider looks really comfortable – did you get an ottoman, too, or just the chair?
@filledeparis – Thanks, but I was hoping for a non-restful weekend (ie, labor!).
Ooh, the glider looks cozy. I love that sunny yellow in the nursey! It’s a laundry day here, too. Hope you have a restful weekend, Shannah!
