BABY UPDATE! So I had my 24-week appointment this morning, so now I have something to tell you about. Here’s the news (there’s not much):
- Both babies’ heartbeats and movements are normal and great.
- I have to do the glucose test at my next visit in four weeks.
- My belly (see picture below) is measuring at 32 weeks.
And that’s about all!
END EDIT
I have no idea what to tell you about today.
Yesterday was mostly spent sitting. I’m not sure if my body is going through another growth spurt or phase of some sort, but a lot of me hurt or felt uncomfortable or just not “right.” So I sat on the couch or at my computer. And I wore my support belt. And I didn’t do the laundry or clean the bathrooms (both of which must be done soon!). Dinner was reheated leftovers and was eaten on the couch.
So that’s about the extent of my day, really.
This morning it is raining. I didn’t know it was supposed to rain today at all. But I’m glad because it saves me from having to water plants (another thing I didn’t do yesterday).
As for the weekend, tomorrow will be pretty low-key again. Eric has to run into work for a bit, and in the evening, he’s going to a soccer game with his brother. Maybe I’ll do laundry then. Sunday after church is a family gathering in honor of my dad’s birthday. I have a card for him, but I still need a small gift. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again.
And that’s about all there is in my boring little life to talk about…oh well! Happy Friday!

You look super and you still have a smile on your face which is lovely.
I am sooo much bigger than my pregnant friends around me – but I am trying not to worry about it. Will post pics tonight 😉
Happy Growing two little healthy babies in there!
You are certainly showing aLOT of baby in that belly. But, it sounds like you’re doing great. Keep up the good work!!
@shannahhogue – It’s OK if you don’t cry about packing up maternity clothes; Beki’s weird.
My wrists felt better when I wore the braces always. Did you ask the doctor about it?
You are beautiful! It is so weird though to see you like that. You have always been so tiny.
I bet that’s quite an adjustment for you. I hope you aren’t too uncomfortable. It will be over before you know it and then you will be crying packing up your maternity clothes……
@gsowell – The left is getting worse; the right is just beginning to have issues. But using the brace makes my left feel worse than not wearing it. Is that weird?
You look great but yes, do what everyone else is saying and rest. That is a lot of baby to be carrying around.
Yep. Rest. I see what you’re lugging around.
Wear that support belt as much as you can stand it (it really will help with the fatigue). How are your wrists?
No wonder you’re so tired. You’ve crammed 32 weeks’ worth of pregnancy into 24.
I think I see the babies in there!
you’re so cute!!! you look great!
@faithchick – No…we have a hanging basket and planter in the front and a container garden on the back patio (tomatoes and peppers this year), and they must be watered to survive. The in-ground plants are pretty much on their own!
^i agree with all of them. I’m glad you spent a lot of the day resting & sitting. And what’s this talk of watering flowers? You actually have to water them after you plant? Huh. Interesting.
Hoping the aches and discomfort pass and you feel a bit more “normal”… although I’m finding that pregnant-normal is quite different from normal-normal!
My general bathroom cleaning schedule revolves around when I know people are coming over. I think yours revolving around how good you feel makes perfect sense.
Sadly, the feeling of hurting/comfortable/not right is probably going to become the new normal in the next few months! Rest as much as you feel like it!
^I believe everyone puts that job off easier than any other…and we all survive!!^
The zoo was fun, but exhausting for everyone…and we weren’t pregnant! The babies fell asleep right at the end…too cute!!We had a good time, though!!
@mtaviano – We get by on “irregular” bathroom cleaning, too! That’s one of those jobs I can far too easily put off until another day!
You take it easy, girl! Every single time you feel achy or worn out, REST!! We have five people in this house (and I’m not pregnant with any amount of babies!), and we survive on way less bathroom cleaning than the average family.
Healthy and rested babies and mamas trump sparkling sinks and tubs!
Hope you feel better today! Sit all you want!
