Stuff

It’s amazing how much better you feel after a good night’s sleep.  One bathroom trip, non-weird dreams, no leg or hand cramps…lovely!

I managed to can two canners-full of peaches yesterday.  One jar didn’t seal.  I probably have about two more canners worth of peaches to do.  I need to finish them today, tomorrow at the latest.

My favorite part of working with peaches is peeling them with a hot water/cold water bath.  It really speeds up the process.  And it’s cool!

My floors are in desperate need of being mopped.  They are disgusting!  But there’s no point cleaning them until I’m done throwing sugar water (from the peaches) on them…

The babies were very active since the ultrasound yesterday, even the girl!  She’s started stretching more, but doesn’t kick nearly as much as the boy does.  It was fun to see them again yesterday.   If we only have one the next time, I’ll miss the regular visual connection.  But I’m not sure I necessarily want twins again either…  Hmmm…

It’s sad that I have nothing terribly interesting to say this morning.  Maybe I’ll try to add some ultrasound pictures later.

Happy Thursday!

  1. It amazes me how people assume they know what your family should look like, too!  When I was pregnant with Ian, everyone’s first question was “boy or girl.”  Once I said boy, there was one of two comments that followed: “Oh, it must be nice to know you’ll be done after this (one of each)” or “Oh, your husband must be so happy about this one, then!” as if he wasn’t about Kayla because she was just a girl!

  2. Once I found out I was carrying twins I couldn’t wait to find out what they were.  Hayley was way more active than Justin was.  And once they were born it was so cute.  She would touch him and he would pucker up like ‘get her away from me’.  I would sit them in their seats so they could see each other.  He wouldn’t look at her.  Now he loves her and she can’t be in a room without being in his face and he loves to hear her voice as well.

  3. @mtaviano – Not really thinking about #3…just keeping in mind that we were already thinking more than 2 before we found out about the twins.  But it’s amazing how many people assume we’re automatically done just because there’s one of each!  As if a “perfect” family is achieved once a child of each gender arrives.  Oh well!

  4. hooray for a good-night’s sleep!!  did you get braces for your wrists, or have you figured out a way to keep them above your heart?
