Eric and I just hung out and watched television for a while last night. And he spent much of that time with his hands on my belly feeling all the movement. It is so cute to watch him get all excited when one kicks or stretches right where his hand is (and it’s pretty sure to happen these days if you just wait 30 seconds or so). He was talking to them, too. I’m glad he’s so excited about them.
Of course, we also noted again how big my belly is getting. It’s just crazy. That’s less fun for me, but necessary, I guess. But if I make it all the way to 38 weeks, I have 16 more to go. And I can’t even wrap my brain around how big I’ll be by then. Yikes!
I’m pretty sure I have carpal tunnel issues in my left hand. It’s quite painful at times. Of course, when I came to that place in a book I have, the suggestion that they gave (other than braces) was to try to sleep with my hands above my heart. How in heavens name am I to “try” to keep my hands above my heart while I’m sleeping?!?
Anyway, I was very productive yesterday. I put the garbage out, watered the plants, cleaned the kitchen (again!), did the laundry, made cookies, made dinner, and cleaned up the kitchen (again!). And in between all those things, I even took time to do a lot of sitting. It felt really good to put my feet up and read a book for an hour or two. I need to remember to do that more often…
We got new next-door neighbors a week or so ago. They are a military family who just retired after he was stationed in Egypt for the last four year. I chatted with her briefly yesterday morning. She’s been cold during the last few days, even wrapping a blanket around her shoulders to walk her son to the bus stop in the morning. I’ll bet she doesn’t leave the house come February!
Okay, that’s all the fun I have for today. Enjoy your Friday and the weekend!
we need more pictures of that growing bump of yours – it is so cool when the hubbands can feel the little ones move. My little one was squiggling like you wouldn’t believe the other night – it was so much fun!
Praying you make it to 38 weeks!
I was going to suggest exactly what Kim did …tooooo funny!!
But I’d have to second Kim — 34wks/5 days wasn’t too bad either!
You will be huge. Stephanie has her picture and she’s big. She’s a little taller than you. She made it to 37 weeks. You can do it!
@gsowell – No, I have no scanner. I CAN possibly FIND the actual picture, make a copy, and mail it to you…….you know….the way the old-timers did things….
@terriwright – Do you have a scanner? I was looking for that picture not long ago. No one believes me when I try to express the ginormity of me pregnant with twins.
@ch1pch0p – I was thinking duct tape….
You will be ginormous. Nothing you can do but face it, buy bigger clothes, and try to rest your poor belly and back. It will be worth it. I remember (and have a picture of) Gail the day before she hatched…..very impressive.
It’ll be OK. God is in charge.
^ I’ll agree with that!! Even 34 weeks and five is fabulous! ^
Just tie your arms to the headboard with a rope or something.
Seriously, get the brace if you haven’t done that yet. In my case, it helped tremendously. I don’t think I could have taken the pain as intense as it was. The braces practically eliminated it.
Um, I don’t think I have to remind you, but you’re pretty short. So the babies have no place to go but straight out. You’ll be huge. And your body may not be able to stretch to 38 wk. size. But babies born at 35 wks and 5 days are fabulously healthy.
i have carpal tunnel in my right hand. i wear a brace on it at night, and that has proved pretty effective so far! seems a little easier than trying to keep my hands above my heart all night!
have a great weekend!
