I wish I had something super exciting to share, but I don’t. So here’s a quick update on life:
- I was called yesterday by our insurance company. They have a pregnancy program you can enroll in. I did that a number of months ago. Apparently, there is a second tier for multiples. They’ll assign a specific person to call you every so often, check in, make sure you’re doing well, and answer any questions you have. I figured…why not? Of course, I know they’re less interested in me/us than in how much money they’ll need to spend on me/us, but that’s okay.
- The lady who called me yesterday reminded me to do three things: hold on to hand rails on stairs because my center of balance is changing, eat smaller meals more often and drink lots of water. Um…duh…

- I spent most of the day sorting out drawers, filing cabinets and piles of things. I’m not done yet. From the looks of my recycling pile, we’ve wasted a lot of trees in the last few years.

- Eric got home before 3:00 yesterday. He’s not enjoying work these days, so he brought some stuff home to read it. He needed not to sit at his desk. It’s hard to see him during this stage of his “I hate/love my job” cycle.
- I cleaned my kitchen yesterday evening, and it was lovely to come downstairs to empty countertops. I also ironed the three shirts I’d washed for Eric the other day. They only sat around for a couple of days instead of the week or more I’ve been letting the ironing go. Yay for me! Then we watched Bravo’s countdown of the top 25 funniest movies ever. We didn’t agree with some of their choices, but it was a fun thing to watch.
- Today will probably involve a grocery errand and cleaning bathrooms, as well as continuing on my sorting. Sounds like fun, huh?
Happy Tuesday!
I must be crazy but all of those things you had to do today sounded great! That is exactly how I want to spend my day—I love cleaning, sorting, and running errands! 🙂
Ugh. Ick. I so dislike South Park. I like AFI’s 100 comedies better.
@terriwright – Sorry, Terri. I have no excuse. At least we should both agree that the South Park movie should NOT have made #4 on the list…
“Do you like gladiator movies? Have you ever seen a grown man naked?”
“I picked the wrong week to go off amphetamines.”
HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE A MOVIE WITH CLASSICS LIKE THOSE?????
@terriwright – Airplane was in the top 5. I hate that movie. I’d at least heard of most of them…
@terriwright – You should have acted like you thought it stood for something else. Could have been very funny.
My living room desperately needs to be straightened. I’m positive I just cleaned things, but they seem to be messed up again.
I thought “Airplane” should have been up there….and I’ve never heard of some of those movies!!!
After my thyroid surgery a nurse from the ins. co. called for a while…she kept asking about my BMI.
Yeah, we had a pregnancy program when I had Ben, too. (I don’t think anybody called me during this more recent pregnancy—different ins. company.) The calls where they called me had a tendency to be pretty lame, but being able to call them came in pretty handy a couple of times. It was nice to be able to get a nurse on the phone at any hour——–especially the night when I was having contractions around 20 weeks. Of course, I eventually ended up calling the doctor anyway, but it was handy to have somebody to run the problem by to be sure I wasn’t overreacting or whatever.
You’re being so productive! Way to go. Waking up to clean countertops is such a great feeling, isn’t it?
And yeah, Brit went through the “hate my job” thing a couple of years ago, hardcore. It was very difficult. Hang in there… it always seems to get better.
Cookies area great idea! Don’t forget to share them with someone!!
We had the “Healthy Pregnancy Program” through our insurance, too. It’s probably different for multiples – they called me the first time, then the second call was after I had Ian! Thanks for the help there, UHC!
Your day DOES sound fun! You should definitely add making cookies to that list to pep it up a bit!
@bethelaine – I love research. Of any kind. I know, I’m weird.
@filledeparis – I have no idea who the insurance person is. But I think these lines are run by nurses.
So is the insurance person a nurse? Hope your sorting goes well!
i am a sucker for “countdown” shows!
have fun cleaning and organizing today! i would gladly trade my day for yours! (are you in the mood to do some researching on how to maintain a patient’s airway in an emergency situation?)
