Why I read movie spoilers
Because I do not like surprises. I do not like to walk out of a movie theatre deeply disturbed by the end of a movie. So I read the spoilers for certain movies that I suspect will cause that reaction in my brain. For example, ever since the Sixth Sense, I do this for all M. Night Shamaylan movies. I understand what he’s trying to do, and I think he is good at building suspense, but I do not enjoy his movies much at all. They make me feel unsettled in a non-godly way. And I just don’t need to see images of dead people, weird things, or stormy nights where creatures jump out of the shadows. I have a hard enough time keeping my brain calm at 3:00 am without his ‘help’!
Anyway, there is my editorial for the day. Of course, for most movies, I do not read spoilers. Ironman was totally worth it, and I had no idea about the ending. Dramas, comedies, cartoons…sure those can just be watched. But suspense/horror movies…NOT A CHANCE!
Yesterday I got my laundry and ironing done, but too late to take pictures of my clothes. Maybe this weekend (for Monday’s post). I also got very little else done.
I think my lack of productivity is directly related to the fact that, these days, I tend to do a couple of things, lose motivation, sit for a while, then get up and try again. So last evening, I ironed 1-3 shirts, sat down with Eric on the couch, got back up at the commercial, ironed another 1-2, sat back down, etc., etc., etc.. It’s pretty silly, really. But I seem to be unable to motivate myself anymore. So sad…
Today has nothing on the agenda, really. I have a few little chores, and I need more milk already. It used to take us 2 or more weeks to use up a gallon of milk. These days, I can drink an entire gallon in less than a week, by myself! Sheesh! Anyway, not exactly sure what the day will hold, but that’s not necessarily a problem, right?
Happy Friday!
Wow, I need to start reading the movie spoilers. I have the same issue with movies like that. I usually spend the whole movie with my eyes closed or just don’t ever watch it. Just can’t do it…make’s my mind run like crazy.
I started craving milk while I was pregnant with Hudson…I’m still drinking it like crazy. We probably go through 2 gallons a week between my husband and I.
I can’t motivate myself lately either! Goodness! What is wrong with us? I am not even pregnant so I guess I don’t have a good excuse…:)
I don’t read the movie spoilers but I can relate to what you said.
I love horror/suspense movies. I couldn’t watch them if I knew how it was going to end. If I figure it out during the movie, I get very bored. And it has to be believable to be scary to me.
I also hate horror and suspense movies. I feel like a little kid, because I can’t watch them without having nightmares afterward.
Good for you on the milk! Give those babies calcium!!
I love days where I don’t have anything planned…just to see how it gets filled!! Have fun!!
@shannahhogue – i think so. and i agree with marla. ironing is dumb.
I always buy milk at Meijer because their sell-by dates are the farthest away. Kroger’s dates are usually only a week or two away. Meijer’s are at least three weeks away. That way I don’t feel like I’m wasting milk as much.
I always figure out suspense movies and then get bored. I knew what was going on with Sixth Sense by about a quarter of the way through, and I wanted to leave.
My mom saw me guzzling milk when I was pregnant with Livi and said, “You do know that you don’t have to drink milk to make milk, right?” (yes, I knew that)
Getting tired after ironing isn’t silly. Ironing is silly.
@faithchick – OMG! Are you my long-lost twin?!?
i don’t know what it is about milk…but i’m the same way! usually i drink about 8 oz. a day and I have to drink it with something or it makes me gag a little, but when I’m pregnant it tastes SO DELICIOUS and refreshing to me, that i can’t get enough. YUM.
I can also completely relate to the motivation issues.
and to the movies, for that matter. (wow, we have a lot in common today
) I can’t even let myself watch any horror/suspense/creepy movies because they mess with my head too much and cause way to much angst.
Have fun today!
