Nothing too exciting to report today, really. I had a headache and didn’t feel good most of yesterday. So I did a lot of sitting. I started to feel a bit better in the afternoon, so I did a few small chores around the house, too. I’m 12.5 weeks pregnant…I hope these headaches go away very soon!
I did run up to the mall yesterday morning. I was looking for some early maternity pants. They make some with expandable waists (instead of panels) which would probably be a good idea before the end of the month. Unfortunately, I didn’t really find any. AND I began to realize that maternity clothes are going to be potentially problematic for me. They always say to buy your normal size (“your shape has changed, not your size”), but I’m already having trouble finding maternity clothes in my normal size. So I suspect I’ll be doing a lot of trying on and getting by for the next few months…this does not excite me right now.
Speaking of a new shape…I did take a couple of pictures for you ladies. First of all, it was very hard to take these pictures of myself! And, the bump might be enhanced by the shirt and the angle, but I promise I was not purposely sticking my belly out!

Anyway, last night we had grilled steak and baked potatoes for dinner. They were yummy! And then we watched a movie before going to bed. Neither of us has been sleeping well this week, so we decided that relaxing on the couch sounded nice.
Today, I have a couple of errands to run this morning (before I wear out), and I’d like to do a couple of chores around the house in the afternoon. Tonight is my niece’s b-day party. She turns 3 on Sunday. It’ll be fun to hang out with family!
Happy Thursday!!
You look great! 🙂
Yay for the baby bump – I haven’t got one yet but I only have one growing in me. My belly has certainly got firmer but still no bump. Will post pics when one starts growing.
Your pictures are soooo CUTE!! I love the little belly! Soon, you’ll be feeling them move…that’s the best!!
@mke813 – Extremely glad! I can even imagine not finding out until 20 weeks, like Gail!!
@shannahhogue – Instead of having a maternity selection at all the Once Upon a Child stores, they do the maternity clothes just at Clothes Mentor, so there’s a large selection there. Definitely worth checking out for you, I think!
The very best maternity pants I bought came from JC Penney. I’m short and everything I tried on was about 4 inches too long. But these were perfect, and had the tiny elastic waist that you can hardly see, not the huge panel. SO comfy. I practically wore my two pair out over the second half of my pregnancy. I never did find jeans that fit.
I can’t imagine not finding out about two babies until the end either. Aren’t you glad ultrasounds are routine now?
@ch1pch0p – I think Henderson…but I didn’t know they had maternity.
@faithchick – I expect to be HUGE at the very end…but I’m trying not to think about it!
In Columbus, it’s all one store — Clothes Mentor on Bethel (or is it Henderson?)
you are adorable. your bump is just perfect!!! (my belly looks like that, too. only. it looked that way BEFORE the positive preg. test.
)
i’m sure you’ve thought of this already, but i like once upon a child’s maternity section. i’ve had the most luck there b/c there are pants in every shape/size/style you can think of–instead of a botique with only 2 types of current pants. also, there’s a bella band. i’m not sure if i’m right about it–but i think you wear your reg. pants unbottoned & put this over it?? i could be totally lying.
i can’t wait to see what you look like at the very end!!
You are so darn cute!! I keep scrolling up to look!
How cool! A reminder that we prayed for that sweet bump, and God answered yes!
@tonialynn59 – Wow! I cannot imagine finding out so late!
@Kdelayne – I see it, too. Oh, and did I mention that a lot of the maternity clothes out right now are ugly?
funny thing = the ad next to your post on my computer is for motherhood.com
you look adorable! I don’t believe I told you that I didn’t find out I was having twins till 3 weeks before they were born (5 weeks before their due date). I was much bigger and way more uncomfortable and when the dr. finally said we needed to do an ultrasound (didn’t do them routinely like now) I just really had convinced myself it was just all because it was my 3rd pregnancy. No way was I having twins. So I was shocked to see 2 babies on that screen.
I have been waiting for a night when Mike and I are here alone to get some really good steaks to grill and it’s a date night Sat night. We are having steak and baked potatoes too!
You look so cute- I love that you look so pregnant already! And trust me the mimi maternity at polaris has a much better selection of petite sizes – I looked when I was pregnant. And Erik is going to Polaris today to pick up your gift card. Talk about perfect timing.
Yes, and you’ll be in all kinds of sizes before you’re finished. Just buy what fits. Soon. You look so cute…..
Woohoo! I can see your babies bump! Those maternity clothes people don’t know what they’re talking about. I wear medium mostly, and I was in XL the last couple months of pregnancy. (?!!?)
i love it!!! yay for the baby bump!!!
