South Carolina by the numbers:

  • 2 – tanks of gas needed to get here.
  • 3 – the number of real estate sales centers that I have counted so far on the island…
  • 80 (dollars) – the price of a bathing suit on Kiawah Island
  • 15 (dollars) – the price I paid for a bathing suit at WalMart (near the island)
  • 150 – the weekly price to rent beach chairs and an umbrella (set up/torn down for us daily)
  • 1 – dolphin sightings so far (they were trailing a fishing boat that was really near the water)
  • 4 – the ships we toured yesterday at Patriot’s Point.
  • 300,000 – the cost of the cheapest residences we drove by the other day on the island (currently for sale)
  • 10 mil. – the cost of the most expensive residence on the island (currently for sale).

I don’t think we’ll be buying a house at Kiawah any time soon!  Happy Wednesday!

  1. I was wondering the same thing as Michelle.  Glad to hear you’re having fun.  You crack me up with your numbers posts.  I miss calling you on the cell phone.  But I am refraining, you are on vacation after all. Gotta run!

  2. Did you not take a bathing suit with you?

I knew it was expensive down there. Hadn’t looked into the specifics though. Hope you’re having a great time!

  3. THAT’S why we go on vacation to those places and DON’T live there!!!! We’ve been to Patriot’s Point! The deck of that carrier felt like a huge griddle!! Hot.

    Rest. Read.

  4. i read your exciting news the other day, but have not had a chance to comment (holding the baby and using the mouse, but the keyboard was probably not on my lap, too ), so congrats on the news of your little ones on the way!!

  5. i think you missed one thing:
1 Gazillion Dollars – the amount it costs to fill up our vehicle with gas.  ugh!!
