I went to the grocery store (Kroger) yesterday morning. Inspired by you supermoms out there, I actually picked a few meals that we would have in the next two weeks and made my grocery list based on what I needed for those meals. Then I added other things I needed, and off I went. It took much less time (although I actually like wandering in the grocery), and I was much more organized with my coupons and such. I may have to do this method more often!
I spent the afternoon grading. I did not finish, though I did get a lot done. The annotated bibliographies are not hard to grade. Actually, they’re one of the easier projects. But I am struggling to care about them. I will need to finish them this morning when I get to work, though. And I’ll need to get some other things done.
With that in mind, then, I guess it was a good thing that our computer-controlled lights somehow turned on an hour earlier than normal. Eric finally just got up, about 15-20 minutes before he usually does. Same for me. So now I’m about 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Hopefully, I won’t squander my head-start!
Today is pretty normal, I think. Classes, but no meetings. I’m down to 3 lectures in Comp (today, Friday, Monday), and then we’ll spend 4 days on workshops and 3 days on in-class work days, and they will turn in their portfolios on the last Monday in April. Praise Jesus…the end is in sight!
Happy Wednesday!
Meal planning is the ONLY way we can function now. I will never go back to standing in front of the pantry trying to decide what’s for dinner at 7:00 when I’m starving already. Never.
Yep…computer-controlled alarm lights are definitely in the geek camp.
meal planning is a pain in the neck, but very worth it!!
i love it!
No…it says “I
my Geek” – let’s be accurate! Besides they don’t make “nerd” shirts. And I admitted above that he dabbles in Geek-ness!
Thank you very much.
I believe her shirt says “I love my GEEK”
^ Good point, Kimberly. ^
Uh, Shan, what does the shirt say?
@filledeparis – Indeed, my nerd/geek is kind. And funny. And extremely laid back. I think I’ll keep him!
@shannahhogue – In all sincerity, in addition to being extremely technical, he sounds extremely kind. Kind nerds are always more pleasant to be around.
@ch1pch0p –
@filledeparis – For both of your information, we are nerds, not geeks! However, my husband does dabble in the “land of geek.” In fact, we were at MicroCenter just last night!
You are soooo organized!! I fly by the seat of my pants at the grocery. Usually, I make a list and promptly forget it at home!! That’s what happens when you get “old”!!
@ch1pch0p – LOL!
He does sound extremely technical…
@filledeparis – Her husband’s a geek. Seriously.
Hey, I make menus, and I’m not a supermom! You’re right — it does make shopping much faster, and it makes me feel like I don’t buy random stuff.
@filledeparis – Yep. I think that Eric’s goes off about 6:30, and mine about 6:45 (mine’s the “oops we’re late” reminder!). So the lights gently interrupt our sleep and then the alarm doesn’t sound so harsh!
@shannahhogue – Wow. So, do you use an alarm, too?
@filledeparis – our lights are run wirelessly through the computer, so we can tell a particular lamp to come on or turn off at certain times. Our bedroom lamp is supposed to turn on at 6:00 or 6:15 am. I’m pretty sure it came on earlier than that!
annotated bibliographies. BLECH! i’m pretty sure i would have a hard time caring about them too.
Computer-controlled lights? In your bedroom? So, it’s like your pre-alarm?
