I’ve gotten to exercise outside for the last two days. I’m going to try it again this morning, hoping the rain holds off for a bit longer. But we shall see. I love walking outside, and I’ll go outside even when the temperatures get into the upper 20s (wearing lots of layers, of course). So when we have these wonderful spring-like temperatures in winter months, I take full advantage of them!
My teeth are now clean, and the dentist found no problems. And I was done in 20 minutes. Love that!
I spent the rest of the morning working on Karen’s shower. It should be fun, though I still have a number of errands to run and things to do to be ready for Saturday. Good thing I still have Thursday! The afternoon was spent working on school stuff, writing some and talking to Karen on the phone. The evening involved goofing off after dinner and going to bed about 9:15 (lights out about 9:45).
Now, for Holly and Terri (and probably breaking every rule of Xanga etiquette), I would like to have a short discussion about “unmentionables” and undergarments. See, as a child, my mom bought us the little-girl equivalent of granny panties. Mine were usually solid colors, and Karen’s had patterns. It was not until much later in life that I ventured into the world of “fun underwear.” Now that I can buy my own, I like all kinds, depending on my mood. And that is good because there are so many options. But for the most part, I like the bikini style (which is what I ordered from VS last week).
So, here is my question to all of you: What style of underwear makes you happiest? Options: briefs, hi-cut briefs, bikini, string bikini, boyshort, hipsters, thong.
(Kimberly, I apologize for such immodesty, but you can blame Terri and Holly!
)
I forgot the real reason for getting on here! I’m pretty sure Lindsey is coming to the shower. It depended on if she could ride with someone and whether or not we were planning to stay and hang out with Kimberly. But, Trisha will probably want to get back home since she will have been gone two days already this week, so we probably won’t be staying after the shower…which means Lindsey will be coming!! Whew, I’m exhausted after all this explaining!!
I think Julie is right…Kim does like/have cutesey undies and would love to comment! I, have always liked and usually wear bikini undies! They make these in stylish form for the “unmentionable” times, too! Although I’m not sure you really need them!!
Good for you getting out and walking. I started that ,too, this week. I’m really out of shape and I am really sore!
Of course Shannah has all sorts of bucks to spend on VS underwear, since she stole all of the VS gift cards at the exchange. Hmph!
I like bikinis best, always have. But some of you are making a strong argument for these hipsters…maybe I should look in to that. I would love to do the “throw all away and get new” thing that Gail’s looking forward to.
FYI – i’m pretty sure Kim loves cutesy undies and is dying to comment..but she backed herself into the corner with all her xanga etiquette…
I weare thongs regularly. Well, I did before I got pregnant. Now, I’m all about comfort. And I don’t want to ruin my good underwear.
*if she ever*
You know, I think we must make sure that Kimberly has an adequate “stash” of that sort if she ever does get a ring!
Holly, I can only imagine shopping for underwear in Paris!
^You are hilarious, Terri. “Those times when spice is needed.” I have a similar uncomfortable stash!
WHY DO I GET BLAMED FOR EVERYTHING???????!!!!!!
I wear Jockeys string hipsters. Cotton, of course. HOWEVER, for those times when spice is needed………….I have a small stash of extremely uncomfortable ‘unmentionables’ that would cause permanent rear AND back injury if worn for an extended period.
Thanks for this fun survey! Or, should I thank Terri? I simply inquired as to whether or not you were purchasing long underwear. Terri typed the “T” word.
I like hipsters and the boyshort style. You have not seen it all until you shop for underwear in Paris. Here there is no “underwear,” it is ALL “lingerie!”
I have to admit that Gail makes a good point. The underwear they are marketing to children is WAY too “sexy” for little girls. And as I recall, both of my nieces were as excited about their new Princess panties at Christmas as they were about almost anything else!
I am holding my head in my hands and crying. I can’t believe this conversation…
I will respond to the first paragraph. Go to Dick’s or another sporting store and get yourself some decent winter outdoor wear. Then you won’t have to wear so many layers to walk outdoors in the winter — AND you’ll stay warm!
^When you two are moms, you will see the wisdom in those childhood granny panties. It’s what I stick on my twerps. No bikini underwear for 5 year olds!^
I am so glad you asked about underwear! My sister gave me 6 pairs for Christmas with the promise that they are the best underwear E.V.E.R. She is right! They are Hanes Cotton Stretch Hipsters with a ComfortSoft waistband. They do not keep these stocked in stores, apparently. I can only find them online. I am going to order about 6 more pairs and throw away everything else in my drawer. Seriously. They are perfectly comfortable, stay in place in every direction, and hit at just the right place. I love, love, love them!
my mom put me in granny panties when i was little too. i never minded until around 5th or 6th grade when we started changing clothes for gym class, and i noticed that i was the only girl wearing such horrific undergarments!
currently, i am a big fan of hipsters.
