Eric left yesterday for work about 8:00 am.  He and his fellow travelers left for the airport that afternoon. He called me from his hotel last night with a headache and an overly full stomach.  Apparently they’d eaten at a Brazilian steakhouse, and the poor guy was really uncomfortable!   His comment: “I’d take an Advil, but it’ll be Thursday before I digest it, so it won’t do any good!”

I goofed off here in Columbus yesterday morning, and left right after lunch for Cedarville.  Mom and Dad are on vacation this week and the beans are being done.  So I helped them cut beans.  I also played with Kelly & Holly who were staying at my parents while Chris took Deb for some alone time.  They had stayed overnight on Sunday night, and they were doing great.  Kelly and I played a lot while Mom worked on green beans and Holly napped.  Chris & Deb came to get them about 5:00, and Mom & Dad and I went out to dinner after they left.

It was almost 11:00 when I got home, but I didn’t mind because I’m not a big fan of being/sleeping alone in the house.  So I came in, brushed my teeth and went to bed.  And I even slept pretty well again.  What a nice change!  I hope I can keep that up!

For today:

  • Laundry
  • Green Beans (my mom gave me some of the beans, and I’m going to try to blanch/freeze them)
  • Some other things that I can’t really think of right now…

  1. Thanks for praying, Shannah. Yes, the migraines have been better since I switched medication–thankfully! I’m assuming that you are working with green beans? I love fresh green beans–yum.

  2. Sleeping alone was not a problem before marriage. But learning to sleep with someone wasn’t a big deal either. And I’m usually fine for 1-2 days alone. But when Eric was gone for a whole week, I really struggled!

  3. ^I never minded sleeping alone.^

My favorite part of beans in a garden was the moment when I got to pull the vines up. Itchy things.

  4. I just called A Cut Above, and wow!  The woman was really unhelpful!  She wanted to know if I wanted just a cut or if I wanted it washed and styled, too.  I asked the price difference.  She said she doesn’t know.  Period.  Silence.  I told her never mind.  She starts going on about how she has one person being washed, one person being dried, and she doesn’t know the prices.  Never mind about the people there, she suddenly decided I was worth helping.  I told her I’d just call back.  She said fine.  She did tell me she is self-employed, and the “girls” work for the shop.  Confusing, but I take that to mean if I call back a little later in the day, I’ll get someone who actually works there and can help me a bit more!  We’ll see!  I just hate to call some random place I haven’t heard anything about, so I’ll try again!!

  5. I haven’t really done much on my report yet – still doing prep work, so I can get to that!  It has to be filed August 9th – it’s always nice to have an end date in sight!  I am also glad I am not like my boss – I like to actually see my child on a daily basis!  His poor wife with their FIVE and never a break!!

I hate being alone in the house, too!  I’m glad Kyle didn’t work third shift for very long!!
