Happy Monday to everybody!
The breakdown:
- Friday night we hosted a good-bye party for a couple in our small group. It was a really good evening with lots of fun, food, and laughter.
- Saturday, was a Harry Potter day, for the most part. I read all of book seven before the end of Saturday. I also went to a baby shower in the afternoon (thankfully, it was short so I could get back to my book!). I’m so glad to have closure. I’m not sorry at all, much as I liked the books, that the series is done.
- Sunday, we hung out and napped and watched movies in the evening. A lovely, relaxing day!
Other details of interest:
- I got my car back on Saturday morning. They did not charge me for the work (called it a quality assurance check). Later, Eric looked around and discovered the fluid we saw was oil. The cap was leaking, but he also saw it had been broken and repaired with “blue gunk” (Eric’s technical term). I have used the WalMart guys for oil changes for a long time…I might have to switch to Firestone now!
- The Harry Potter news, in case you care: SPOILER ALERT/SPOILER ALERT/SPOILER ALERT
- Harry Potter does not die. (I was right.)
- Harry and Ginny get together, as do Ron and Hermione. (I was right again.)
- Snape turned out to be good. (I was right.)
- Harry was a Horcrux. (I was wrong.)
- I got a great night’s sleep last night. Even with a nap (maybe because of it), I slept like a log. Love that.
- Eric is gone on a business trip until tomorrow night. Don’t love that.
- I might head to Cedarville today to help my parents pick beans. We’ll see…
Oops–I just noticed the word “green.” Never mind. When does your husband come back? I know what you mean about getting used to sleeping with someone, and then they leave–it’s just different.
Glad your car is finally really fixed! Yea for a relaxing weekend.
Favorite quote: Mrs. Weasley “(summary) That was my daughter you bitch!” I laughed about that for a while.
I did not read any comments on your site, and I stopped reading the end of your post because I can NOT discuss this HP stuff until I read the book. I want to savor it over vacation without a bit of guilt. 12 days and counting down until I crack the cover!
OK. I’m ready for Year 8 of Harry Potter………………….
With no children you can read a whole book…I’m jealous!! And i don’t even have any kids at home. I just keep being interupted without them!!
^ “I’m so glad to have closure. I’m not sorry at all, much as I liked the books, that the series is done.” Pay more attention. ^
So, they didn’t kill Harry even though he’s a Horcrux, but you still have closure?
Wow, you finished the whole book in one day?! Good for you!
Are you sad it’s over?
i’m only on Book 2. i don’t even recognize most of these characters’ names! hopefully i’ll forget your spoiler by the time i get to Book 7!
What’s a Horcrux?
Yes! Dobby’s death bothered me a LOT. And yeah, with so many Weasleys……….
I was left wishing that Snape hadn’t died, as well…
I thought Book 7 was one of the best…maybe because it was the climax???? I WANTED Snape to be good, but it was hard to believe………..
I think that blue gunk does not qualify as a ‘fix’.
