Really Good News:
My mom told me at lunch today that Uncle Les called her yesterday to
say that he had just left his doctor’s office. His surgery (last
Wednesday) was a huge success and his tumor was completely removed, all
the cells around the site of the cancer were clear and his lymph nodes
were also totally clear. He’ll get the rest of his stitches out
next week and then he’ll have a follow up appointment in August,
between which he’ll have to visit his local dermatologist regularly for
checkups. But as of right now, he’ll need no radiation, chemo, or
further treatment. Praise Jesus!!
So the final for Basic English is next Wednesday…that mean I have one
full week of work left. Wahoo! Of course, I also have to
finish all my grading, but I have every intention (
)
of getting that done by Friday of next week. Last year, I was
done with my grading at graduation, so I think I can do it again this
year!
Eric flew to Georgia for a meeting yesterday. He got up at 4:15
am to make is 6:00 am flight. He got home about 7:00 last
night. We went to bed at 9:00. I suspect we’ll be in bed
pretty early tonight, too. We’re both pretty tired right now.
Yesterday, I got my grading done (almost!) and my part for the video
for church this Sunday, and then I got to play for the rest of the
day. I ran errands and let Karen’s puppy out. I also worked
on my Mother’s Day gift for a while in the afternoon. And I did
one load of laundry (towels). Other than that, I just
played.
Okay, I actually have one more paper to read for today’s conferences,
so I’d better get to that before I start anything else.
TruthorFiction.com is another good one to use. I have one friend who sends everthing that comes across her computer because she is sure it is so true. I often send her the link to Truthorfiction and she still sends stuff without checking!!!
It’s going to be crazy! Are you helping your mom on Friday night with set-up?
I check about everything with snopes. People who don’t and just forward things drive me nuts! Sometimes I send them back what I find on snopes…
The

I meant God. Gos might be, too. Let’s talk about that Basic English….
Wonderful Uncle news!! Gos is good.
Ugh…Basic English….we elem. people really did try…..
YAY about Les! I was wondering about that….
especially after I got Glenda’s forward the other day about how anti-perspirant causes cancer. You should only use deoderant, you know.
That is great news about Les! I was very excited to hear everything had gone so well. We have a GREAT GOD!
Also, good to hear that you had finished all your students papers. Now, you just have to read their final reports…Woohoo!! Good goal, to be done with all grading by graduation. I’d like to be done then, too!!
^ Michelle’s been in the hospital too long – she thinks laundry’s fun!
Just kidding – towels are my favorite to wash, too! ^
Great news about Les! I was just thinking about that yesterday and wondering how things were going!
I still can’t believe he does trips like that in one day. I would be exhausted.
Towels are !so fun to wash. They’re easy to fold and put away so I feel like I get a lot done!
What’s your mother’s day gift? You can message me if you don’t want to say.
That’s a lot of flying for one meeting!
Good for you getting all your grading done (almost)!!
