Office update: 45 degrees when
I entered it.  Thankfully, it goes up to a little over 50 degrees
just a few minutes after turning on my space heater.  But
still…it was noticably warmer in the hallway than my office
today.

The weekend was pretty relaxing.  Friday night, Eric & I went
out for Greek food and then spent money at Half-Price Books on
Henderson.   I love that store!

Saturday was very laid back.  I washed out my oven somewhat (and
ran the self-cleaning cycle yesterday) because it was smoking when I
cooked Eric’s lunch.  I also washed sheets and remade the
bed.  And I did a few other little things, I guess.  Saturday
night we had Chipotle with a couple from our small group.  Then
she and I went and watched a movie at her house, while the boys went
their separate ways.  I got home around 11:45, but it was fun to
hang out for a while.

Sunday was church.  After lunch, we hid upstairs for a while
because the fumes from the oven’s cleaning cycle were a bit
overwhelming downstairs.  Then I read the newspaper and generally
goofed off for a bit, read some Comp papers, then headed to the church
about 5:00 to set up a drama for the small group “event” they were
doing last night.  I got home about 7:15, ate supper, knitted
while I watched tv and then went to bed.  Not that exciting, but
it was nice!

  1. I should run the self cleaning oven, myself…maybe this afternoon, when we go to Springfield would be  good time. Lindsey complains every time I cook something in there!!

  2. Definitely complain!  They should do something about that!

I cannot imagine NOT having a self-cleaning oven!  I feel for you, Gail and highly recommend finding a house with one of those fancy gadgets when you move!!

  3. I spent more than 2 hours cleaning my oven Friday night. We do NOT have one of those fancy self-cleaning types. So I had to let it soak in cleaner for 6 hours, then scrub, scrub, scrub (it was pretty bad…since it’s so much work, I usually wait way too long between cleaning it).

I agree with Kim. Complain every day!

  4. Do you know the reason for this lack of heat? I would be complaining EVERY SINGLE DAY if I were you!

Where did you get Greek food?
