I’m waiting for there to be enough light outside to go for my walk, so I thought I’d write a quick update while I’m sitting at the computer.
I was productive yesterday, but my brain is beginning to get tired! So I stop and take breaks to do mindless things every so often…which is good, I guess.
But then I end up getting started again as soon as I can.
I spent the morning finishing a revision of the Christmas script I’ve been working on. I think it’s much better, but boy was it hard to get where I was trying to go. Then I cleaned the kitchen, sent some emails and did the week’s small group newsletter (which I almost forgot about!). My friend Vicki came over with lunch from Bob Evans and we had a lovely chat for a couple of hours. I’ve missed getting to hang out with her sometimes. When she left, though, I was pretty brain dead, so I watched a couple of movies at once (K-9 and Narnia) on the movie channels and surfed the web for a bit. I didn’t watch all of either movie…just enough to get started again.
Eric got home about 3:30, and he started playing with computer stuff. I started working on my next project (a paper I have to write) and slowly made progress on that until I stopped to make dinner about 6:15. We ate about 7:00 and then I cleaned up the kitchen before sitting down with a book that I have to read so I can write something on it by the end of the month. By then it was almost 8:30 so I went upstairs and got ready for bed ( I even shaved my legs so I didn’t have to this morning!), then climbed into bed and read some more until I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Eric came to bed just after I laid down and we were out just after 10:00. How lovely!
Sure, you could share the story in your newsletter…God blessed me with that lesson yesterday, and if He can bless others, all the better.
Absolutely, Kimberly!
Gail – I am the group secretary. The newsletter is a 2-page dealio that goes out by email. We have about 10 couples in the small group, and prayer requests are the most personal part of it.
What most people care about is the small box on the top, left-hand side that gives the house where we’re meeting the next week, and who is bringing snack!
^ see my site for newsletter content ^
So, Shan, basically, you’re saying that without you, the group would fall apart (or at least not have food one night)?
^^Michelle is right. Morning shave or no shave here.^^
Is your newsletter a hard copy or an e-mail kind of thing? How many are in the group to get it? We do a monthly church newsletter that goes out to about 85 families. It is a serious ordeal. I couldn’t just whip one out once a week! So you are either a journalistic genious (say that out loud…it’s fun!
) or your newsletter is much shorter than our monthly one!
What do you put in the newsletter every week?
It seems useless for me to shave my legs in the evening. I feel a little stubble the next morning already!
Glad you got a lot done yesterday!! Maybe you can take it easy today — except for those darn classes you have to teach!
I love getting to fall asleep early…such a good feeling.
I shaved my legs this morning. It’s pretty much becoming a once a week thing for me…
If you hadn’t mentioned the breaks, that would have sounded like a non-stop day! It pretty much did anyway – glad it was productive!
