Time for a quick update before Chapel. Today is the start of
classes. I have an 11 and 12, then lunch, then a 2. The
first two are Basic English. The last is my Comp. It isn’t
too hard of a day since I re-give the profiency test in Basic and
basically cover the syllabus in Comp. But I still feel totally
unprepared for the semester!
Today’s Chapel is convocation. That’s when the faculty march into
chapel in full regalia and then sit on the stage while a formal
“start-of-year” sort of service goes on. I never march, though,
because I’ve never ordered regalia. Besides…it’s very boring to
be stuck up on stage and I’d be so far in the back that I couldn’t see
a thing. So I just sit in the audience.
So far Bible conference has been good. Matt & Whitney Rexford
are leading worship and the week’s speaker seems to be very good.
BTW, Karen, Whitney is pregnant again and due in November. They
gave their testimony yesterday in chapel (lots of difficulties with
pregnancies and such)…it was very powerful. Other than chapel,
I had more meetings and did more work. I did make it home by 6:00
yesterday, so that was good. Fortunately for me, Eric had been
taken out to a fancy restaurant for lunch, so I didn’t have to cook
dinner! Always nice!
Good point, Kimberly!! I went ahead and got a minor in Bible at CU, so I didn’t concentrate too much on the ethics part, knowing deep down inside that I’m a good person.
Hope your first day of classes went well!
What about the ethics part?
Yeah, no problem. I completely passed it all the first time. Didn’t have to take even one part of it over, you know. I am pretty smart!
Way to work that in, Trisha!
Gotta LOVE the students at CU, eh, Shan? I hate it when they say stupid things like that. Do they know how dumb they sound?!
I don’t really like seafood, but I got a gift certificate to Cameron Mitchell restaurants for passing my CPA exam on the first try (bragging – did I really NEED to mention why I got it?), and the only one in Cincy was the Fish Market, so we went there. It was okay, but I was glad I didn’t have to pay for it! Who would spend that much on FISH?
I’ve never been there, but I hear it’s good. I just don’t like seafood enough. I’m okay with most other Cameron Mitchell restaurants, though!
I am glad that someone else understands those things. I know I shouldn’t let them bother me that much, but they do. And when someone says “I’m sorry” in an argument and they don’t really mean it, I think that just makes me even more mad!!
And the turn signal thing…. ay yi yi!
Eric doesn’t get dinner if he eats out for lunch?
Yep. He and Jason both work for a church in South Carolina. He’s the worship leader there.
Matt Rexford… that wasn’t the roommate of the student chaplain or something, was it?
