It’s a rainy Friday in Columbus, but I did get to walk outside today. And it’s still going to be in the mid-70’s, so I’m okay with a little rain. We had a big thunderstorm at 5:00 this morning which woke me up. I hadn’t been sleeping well already because my jaw has been bothering me, but I also remembered that our bedroom window was open. So I got up and closed it.
Yesterday I had lunch with a friend, then met Karen and the girls at the mall. When I got home, Eric and I hung out for a bit before getting dinner (grilled brats…I love warm weather!). Later we went to Home Depot. We’re going to try to do some container gardening this year, so we bought some pots and seeds to get started. I don’t know if we’ll get anything to grow, but it should be fun to watch!
Today I’m going to get a massage. It was a gift for my birthday from Eric, but I’m just now getting around to going. I’ve never had a massage before, so it should be interesting…and fun, I hope! Other than that, I haven’t decided what I’m going to do. I’ll let you all know if something amazing happens, though!
Karen does sound like she watches a lot of HGTV!! We are horrible at gardening (mostly because we forget to water A LOT), but we do have hanging baskets of pansies and we’ve started some morning glories and johnny jump-ups (that’s a fun-named flower) in cups that we will plant along the privacy fence once they start, so they can climb up that. We did it last year, too, and it worked quite well.
That’s good that you remembered your window was open – Kyle apparently felt the need to open all the windows upstairs yesterday, so when I woke up with the thunder this morning, I checked, and no water was coming in our bedroom window, but I didn’t think to check the spare room and the baby’s room! Let’s just say, we have one wet hamper in the baby’s room and some damp carpet in the spare room! Oops!
Also, I had to clean this morning because we’re having show and tell of our house again. Donna loves to bring everyone she knows over to see our house (which is starting to drive Kyle insane – I don’t think it’ll happen too many more times!), and wouldn’t you know, someone’s coming into town who hasn’t seen it! I didn’t know what time she would be coming (kinda made her mad the other night, and I don’t like to break the silent treatment she gives us unless it’s absolutely necessary), so I thought I should have some stuff clean so I don’t get a phone call later asking if I need any help cleaning anything, which will probably come anyway. I would have put this on my site, but Kyle mentioned he might show give his aunt my site to look at pictures of the baby’s room, so I didn’t want that to be the first thing she sees!

How fun! Enjoy your massage. I liked the one I got in Jamaica. I think you’ll recall that Erik did not like his. I also love container gardens. I think it’s so fun to get different kinds of pots, to add dimension and texture to the area. Don’t I sound like I watch a lot of HGTV?
